What the blank is going on here? I'm shocked, happy, a little scared, and befuddled by all these youngsters signing up. I guess that is G2O's recruiting philosophy. The more they sign up, the more skeptical I am getting that this will work en mass.

Well, there were/are some openings for the '19/'20 and '20/'21 rosters to fill. Guess this 14, 15, and 16 year old signings business will be part of the norm for everyone going forward.

I kinda like picking up some later developing players from the USHL and BCHL too. I hope they don't ignore Canada. We shall see.

Tanner Latsch commits per twitter. birth year 2002. Wow.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Recruiting Vol. XXXIV: Go pick me out a winner, Strand

Tanner has Michigan State on his Facebook page. I thought that was interesting, but pulling kids from Michigan is a good sign.

And yes one heck of a week.

Pulling commits from 14 & 15 year olds. This seems weird to me. I know there is a benefit to being out front, building a relationship before the OHL starts their hard sell....but I got to believe there is a miss ratio on even the best 14 & 15 year olds being effective upper end D1 players. Hope G20 have got projecting these youngin's out 3-4 years down.

Out of the 22 kids that will be on the USNTDP U17 team this year, just 4 are uncommitted. I think that is a pretty clear sign you have to get some commitments at younger ages to be competitive with other elite teams.

I noticed Don Granato coached one of the all-star teams at (I believe) the U16 select camp this year, so he was up close and personal with that age group, even getting to interact with them in a game setting.

One other random thing I stumbled onto today. It looks like Max Gildon has a brother named Michael who is a 2001 forward and was a line mate of Turcotte's at select camp. I would assume the staff will be keeping an eye on him in the future.

Yet another commit for Bucky:

Patrick Keegan ('00 D-Cushing Academy) commits to University of Wisconsin. Big physical defender is a MA native, big pickup for the Badgers.

The recruiting spreadsheet simply cannot be updated fast enough!

Article up on the first 3 commits from the weekend.

Looks like Mathieu de Saint Phalle is a legacy...

No doubt.

I've updated the spreadsheet again. I have Latsch pencilled in as a '20-'21 (not ready to add another year to the sheet yet.)

I was informed, via a trusted source, that he was not going to be attending the UW.

Are you sure this trusted source said he won't be attending this upcoming year? Because if he still is committed, like a lot of sites say, he may play a year with Fargo in the USHL then join UW.

I have no idea I'm just speculating, it would be nice if the roster was updated.

I understand what you are saying. I'm just waiting on a few things to shake out to know how the roster will lay out for this year.

The roster on uwbadgers, I mean.

Today was Granato's Birthday, could the commitments today be coordinated? It was just nuts.
