Solid win last night. Goody seemed to be back in form. Now the boys stick it to the rodents and secure 2nd spot - screw you DU.

Who would you rather see UW play in the first round, UAA or Kato?

Neither. I'm sick of those two and Tech in the first round.

I don't care as long as it isn't Minnesota or UND.

I know you're just throwing the question out there, but I don't want the UW to look past the goofers. I want a Badger sweep; not just a sweep, a convincing, embarrassing, humiliating sweep. Towards the end of each game, I want to see nothing but Badger fans in their seats at TTC and the Mooch this weekend.

I couldn't agree more. Payback's a *****.

You may see that at the start of the games considering how many empty seats I've seen on TV.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Part 2 - No Silly Eaves-isms, Just Win The Title!

Depending on the outcome of this weekend's games, there's potential for the Badgers to end up tied with St. Cloud or Duluth or both. Since the head-to-head is tied with both of these teams, does anyone know what the remaining tie-breakers are? Thanks.

Wisconsin likely loses both tiebreakers.

It goes this way:

1. Head to head
2. Most conference wins
3. If 4 games played between teams, the team with fewest goals against in series
4. Goal differential in all conference games.

Against SCSU:

1. The teams are 2-2
2. Both teams are likely to end up with an identical number of conference wins if they end tied in points. The only way it can happen without the two teams having the same number of wins would be for Wis to lose twice and SCSU to tie twice. In that case you win the tiebreaker because you'd have one more win.
3. In the season series, Wisconsin gave up 14 goals, SCSU gave up 13. SCSU wins tiebreaker.
4. Not necessary.

Thus, the only way Wisconsin wins the tiebreaker against SCSU is if SCSU catches them by getting two ties, while Wisconsin loses twice.

Against UMD:

1. The teams are 1-1
2. The only way UMD catches Wisconsin is if it sweeps UAA and Wisconsin falls twice to MN. In that case, UMD wins tiebreaker with 17 conference wins to Wisconsin's 16.

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, but kind of new around here. I follow the Sixty Minutes No Alibis No Regrets blog and such every day, so I could probably get an answer over there but not really sure where to post it besides just a random comment section. Anyways...here's my question.

I'm moving from Appleton to a townhouse in Lomira next month. I currently have Time Warner digital cable for my provider, so I see the UW games (when they are available) on either FSN, or WPT2 (The Wisconsin Channel) on tape delays. My question is, I'm probably switching over to DirecTV when I move, so how will I be able to see UW hockey games? I assume all will be fine when they are on FSN, but for those of you that have DirecTV, do you still get the games on delay from WPT? With DirecTV also not having Versus anymore, I'd like to see the NHL playoffs, I wonder if it's crazy to get both DirecTV in one room, and Charter Cable in another? Do people do that? I know Charter offers some UW games on their sports channel, that's what made me begin considering having two providers....

There has to be a lot of you Badger fans out there with DirecTV, right? How do you do it?

Again, I know I'm a newbie around here, sorry if this has already been covered, maybe you can just point me to the correct thread.

MCR - I live in Chicago but work in downtown milwaukee...crazy (just started a few months back)...540 espn radio carries many badger hockey games in mke, AND because they're so low on the AM dial I can pick up that station in Chicago, though there is some interference

from the times i've listened in they do not do the 1/2 pre-game. they just jump right in at 7:05.

Hey I work in downtown Milwaukee too. Cheers!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Part 2 - No Silly Eaves-isms, Just Win The Title!

right on. I think there's a few more of us working downtown mke....or at least I recall 1 or 2 other posters mentioning that?
I think Jen is one of the other downtown Milwaukeeans.

I'm rocking the suburbs (just like Quiet Riot did).

Live in tFalls, work in Muskego.

It seems that WPT has elected to put all the delayed hockey broadcasts on WPT2, and that is NOT on DirecTV. I get WPT2 off the air via antenna, but I'm only about 8 miles from Madison. My brother-in-law had both cable and DirecTV for a few years to maximize his options, but I always thought he was a little crazy. I guess if you have the money to throw at it, it's nobody's business but yours. Good luck.

Dish Network has Versus, consider that. Some posters here have mentioned "Charter Extra" which carries some Badger games... they can help you with that. I cut the cable years ago and don't regret it. My brother has DirecTV in Vilas County and does get tape delays on his WPT station (Park Falls?)

As I mentioned I have Dish network which has the NHL Network and I subscribe to Center Ice. I get my hockey fix almost daily except for the road Badger games. More people should at least look at Dish Net since DirecTV isn't the only option.

I can't help you on the Satellite questions, but as for Charter, they came up HUGE this season. I saw 6 extra Badger hockey games because I have Charter cable that people with Time Warner and satellite didn't see. Quality isn't the greatest but at least they are on TV.

Sunday's game is on live for Directv at least, not sure about cable.

Back from Houghton, got up early so we could make it back in time for the Gold Medal game. I thought they team played outstanding on Friday night, even during the first period, it just seemed to be a matter of time until we'd pull away. Genoe had probably the best game I've seen from a goalie this year at least. Badgers controlled the game in every way, Gudmandson was still fighting the puck and giving up some juicy rebounds especially early.

Saturday's game the Badgers were pretty sloppy and Robinson although having 50 saves, he didn't have the same type of night as Genoe and alot of our chances seemed to come from shots at the blueline. Street was one player other then Bendickson and Mitchell that seemed to be all over the ice. Really a shame that Bendickson got tripped up going for the hat trick, but the tech player made a good play to save the sure empty netter.

We really need Geoffion back for obvious reasons, but missing his faceoff ability on the power play REALLY was noticable this weekend. Stepan lost at least 5 straight faceoffs on the Power Play Saturday night and the power play just never seemed to get anything flowing. Interesting to see Gardiner get power play minutes on the 2nd group as a forward. He was very active all weekend and hadn't seem that type of offense from him alot this year. His goal Saturday night was a beauty. I've been someone wanting to see Derek Lee back in the lineup and must say he was pretty invisible Saturday night, he seems very timid to take on any contact. I'm sure it doesn't help to be playing out of his role as a 4th liner, but Turnball was defintely more active. He was initially credited with an assist on the last goal Friday as well, but noticed that was taken away in the box score. Gudmandson was much better on Saturday night and was tested much more often. The 2nd goal he had no chance on as the defense pairing both lost their man and led to an easy goal.

All in all any time you sweep on the road it's a great weekend.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Part 2 - No Silly Eaves-isms, Just Win The Title!

Thank you to those that have offered such quick advice. I think we'll probably already be getting internet through Charter, that's what made me wonder about just doing one cable box through them too, it can't be that much more since if I don't do a Charter box in that room I'd just be doing another DTV box anyways. I suppose I'll wait until next season to consider it though, since by the time we move this one will be over. The Versus issue still irks me though. I plan on getting the Center Ice package next year, but for the games that are shown on Versus, are they blacked out then on the Center Ice package I assume? Or do you at least get one of the feeds still? I'd really hate to switch to DirecTV next month when we move, just in time for the NHL playoffs, and have to miss the entire first and second rounds because of the Versus issue...

Anyways, sorry for taking the thread off topic.....ON WISCONSIN!
