Or the other reason may be that since their parents don't have to shell out $20,000 per year on tuition, room n board and books, they may have a few bucks left for a scooter!

Back in the day we just used that for booze and hookers. What's this world coming to???

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Part 2 - No Silly Eaves-isms, Just Win The Title!

I think your mis-understanding my point. I'm not saying Miami is better than Wisconsin. In fact I think the opposite. What I am saying, is that Miami has performed better according to the only non arbitrary source, the computer rankings.

When you look at the schedule and wins and losses Miami has, you have a clear bias. When the computer looks at the schedule and wins and losses Miami has, it has no bias.

I don't understand why people think they are smarter than a computer.

FWIW, here is the current NCAA strength of schedule computer rankings.

1. Denver
2. Michigan Tech
3. Wisconsin
4. Colorado College
5. Alaska Anchorage
6. Miami
7. North Dakota
8. Minnesota
9. St. Cloud State
10. Minnesota Duluth
11. New Hampshire
12. Ohio State
13. Minnesota State
14. Vermont
15. Boston University

Also, when comparing what Miami and Wisonsin have done so far this season.

<pre class="alt2" style="border: 1px inset; margin: 0px; padding: 6px; overflow: auto; width: 640px; height: 114px;"><b> Miami Wisconsin</b>
RPI .5850 .5692
TUC 11-2-5 8-5-4
COP 6-1-2 5-2-1</pre>

Its simple from my point of view, a computer can't watch the games and see the teams play. My beef is with the people that vote in the polls because its obvious to me that they don't put much thought or consideration into there votes or they wouldn't have Miami #1 with 37 votes right now...

All the computer rankings are good and great and its the system we have for college hockey (pairwise) but i think everyone can look at Ohio State last year and then the teams that just missed the tournament and say that Minnesota and Wisconsin were probably considerably better hockey teams.

I agree 100%. Although didn't Murray switch spots with Street for Saturday?

YEah Street seems to get better chances with Stepan and Davies and murray works well on the top line. I hope we keep the Street - Stepan - Davies line together, those top 2 lines will be tough to handle for UMD. That 1st line I'm guessing will try to be on the ice with UMD's top line as much as possible I'm sure, although UMD has last change so that will be difficult.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but the Culvers classic will be televised by the BTN. Even the women's game is being televised on taped delay.

The Big Ten Network has announced that it will televise both games of the Camp Randall Hockey Classic on Feb. 6.
The University of Wisconsin men's and women's hockey teams are playing a doubleheader, with the women taking on Bemidji State in a WCHA tilt at 2 p.m. and the men following with a non-conference matchup against Michigan at 5 p.m.
The men's game will be televised live, while the women's game will follow on tape delay.
Former UW hockey players Adam and Nikki Burish will be a part of the BTN broadcast crews for the game. The brother-sister combo from Madison helped their teams win national titles in 2006, the same year that Adam Burish and the UW men played in the Frozen Tundra Classic at Lambeau Field.
Adam Burish, a Chicago Blackhawks player, has been doing work for the Big Ten Network while rehabbing a knee injury suffered in the preseason.
Nikki Burish will join Matt Rosen and Shireen Saski on the call for the women's game.

That's where I'm going to be. Feet up, drink in hand, fire in the fireplace, rootin' for my team.
Not me, I'll be at Camp Randall rootin' for my team. Watching the game on TV isnt going to be nearly as cool as being there.

Things to notice in the upcoming days/weeks/months…

Heater is 10 goals away from 300 and 1 point away from 600 in his career.

You got that right. Hate to say it but I'm still on the fence. If I hadn't just done this at Lambeau I'd be going for sure. Most likely go down there day of and score some tix.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Part 2 - No Silly Eaves-isms, Just Win The Title!

I'm going to be freezing my *** off at Camp Randall. Can't wait.

No matter how cold it may be that day, I would be warmly dressed if I was going. Last year I went ice fishing on a day with a high of 5 degrees and a 15 mph wind. It's all in how you dress. And warm tea going was helpful as well. I'm not going because the view is going to suck, plain and simple.

No worries! Just got this in an e-mail from the Athletic Dept.:

"Weather forecasts currently call for a balmy 32 degrees when the puck drops next Saturday, Feb. 6 for the 2010 Culver’s Camp Randall Hockey Classic. Don't miss what's sure to be a historic day."

A 10-day weather report. Riiiiight.
