Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

The overtime was tough to watch. The Badgers looked tired, and when they got the puck they were careless with it. Im not sure if it was the extended shifts, conditioning, panic with the puck or what.
I agree. It seemed Mankato had more in their tanks as the game went along. That was a theme last year as well. There is no excuse for a program with the resources Wisconsin has to be in less than top condition. I'm worried that this is either not a priority or a concession to the players since top conditioning can be a grinding process that few enjoy.

I only watched the 3rd period, I was compelled to watch a different sporting event to it's end. They did a lot of things right, 14 different players 19 blocked shots, dominated faceoffs 66% / 34%, stayed out of the box with only 3 penalties, outshot them 30-22. Hauser was great, the OT SUCKED. I recall other OT's under Hastings also sucking. They need to figure that out asap.

The OT sucked because they don’t play as a team and their passing is less than stellar. 3v3 is about puck possession and rotating/cycling to find a grade A scoring chance or tire out the other team out.

I’d love a shot chart based on skating into the zone and just shooting it on net versus working the offensive zone for the right opportunities to shoot. A shot on a 2-on-2 rush from outside the faceoff circles and no screen has a smaller chance of going in than an offensive zone cycle back to the point and our dman takes a shot with 1-2 guys screening the goalie or causing chaos near the crease.

You hit the nail right on the head about OT. Possession Possession Possession. Tire them out, trap them on the ice and take advantage.

The team will go as far as the goaltending can take them. There is more offensive talent this year. They must learn to play together and gain confidence for the B7. How many 1 goal losses last year. A lot.

I know it's early, but I 'm getting a bad feeling about this team. I hope we didn't get Fickelled.
