Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

Took too many penalties, but blanking them the power play is a great sign. Your goalie has to be your best penalty killer. Great job lads.
 
So... The streaming service is stuck on a screen that says "event will begin shortly"... Meanwhile, the badgers are up 1-0 8 minutes into the 1st period.
 
Took a few more dumb penalties that gave Lindenwood hope at 4-2, and made me a little nervous, but other than that there's nothing to complain about. They did not allow a goal 5 on 5 all weekend. Guys scored up and down the lineup. Great to see the boys building a bunch of confidence early in the season.
 
Fitzgerald and Tassy both with 4 point weekends. Good start for both players after last year’s performance.

It was good to see them take care of business this weekend. Before this, last series sweep at all (excluding holiday faceoff) was Penn State in November of 2024. Last straight sweep with no OT games was Notre Dame in February 2024. Last non conference series sweep Michigan Tech in October 2023.

Obviously you can't hang your hat on the fact that we swept Lindenwood, that has to be the expectation. But simply winning both games feels nice, and racking up these easier wins is crucial for a potential tournament berth down the line.

Outshot them on average 39 / 26, which should be the expectation. Faceoffs were 50/50, which isn't great, but they can improve on that.
