Wisconsin Hockey 24-25 Improving With All Due Haste.

Not sure if anyone saw this Stramel interview on the Sota Pod or not. Happened before MSU came to town. He actually had some nice things to say about Wisconsin. Lots of love for the guys on the team still and he thinks we will turn it around, which we have been trending in that direction. Said the only team he would have left for was Michigan State and that Wisconsin just wasn’t the right fit for his playstyle (paraphrasing). Also hinted that the Wild organization might have been in his ear to make a change.

Michigan typically plays pretty loose and fast, so I think they'll be opportunities to score pretty readily. They have to straighten out to penalty kill. Maybe Scarfone being 100% will tip them in the right direction. Your goalie has to be your best penalty killer.

Michigan has 3 goals in their last 4 games. Hopefully the lads learned something from Michigan’s opponents on how to shut them down.

I did watch this. Thanks for the link. One concerning item was him talking about the strength coach at MSU and him dropping body fat after 2 years in the Wisconsin program. Could this explain some of the Saturday second half of game play? Are they just running down and tired? He seems like a good kid and hope the best for him when not playing the Badgers.

Is Simon Tassy hurt??

This team has made steady progress and the next hump to get over is finishing off the Saturday game after playing a great Friday game. Let’s see what happens tomorrow…..

Only calling Horbach for that penalty at the beginning of period 2 is insane. He was crosschecked/roughed to the ice by 3 blue weasels and he is the only one that gets a penalty. What a joke.

Laatsch just gives up possession in OT and 15 seconds later it is in the back of our net. Someone needs to hammer it home with the lads that OT is about possession.

The refs didn't call our pretty healthy cross check at the end of regulation either. Trying to focus on things that we can control. Michigan doesn't even have the puck to set up the pick play if Laatsch just passes the puck back to our player at the offensive blue line.

That was one great dive on the " cross-checking " penalty that wasn't called. At least a daytime Emmy for that one.

Bummed about game 2. UW was blistering them until the first penalty. The UM got rolling and the rest of the 1st period UW was on their heels. 2nd period was ok, they evened things out. Tied her up out of nowhere, I was shocked. They picked up a good amount of points from a ranked team on the road, it's not all bad.
