Wisconsin Hockey 22-23 Empty Dreams & Empty Seats

He's a little too buddy buddy with the coaches. When TG gets fired he'll not be happy.

So does it happen Monday AM, or is there an fall/winter sports evaluation window that opens and they leave him out hanging for weeks? It looks like they have until 6/30 to do it on the cheap.

I think it will happen right away. Like Sunday or Monday, assuming they don't get to next week.

Ya'll could make it to next week. Michigan is on a 4 game winless streak.

No better tonic for that than playing the team that is 1-21 over the last 2 years in Big7 regular season games away from the Kohl Center (2-23 if you count last years quarterfinal against N/D).

If you need more reasons to be optimistic, Wisconsin is:

33rd of 62 in the pairwise
44th in offense
52nd in defense
24th in power play
42nd in penalty kill
47th in penalty minutes
48th in save %
but T9th in Faceoff %, "so we got that going for us, which is nice...."

Alright, you guys convinced me...got both Fri and Sat tilts in the upper for this weekend. Im excited to finally watch the unceremonious end come to TG!

Tony: “Well I guess there’s only one thing left to do.”

Team: “What’s that?”

Tony: “Win the whole f’ing thing.”

And then the team stays in Madison instead of relocating to Miami and Tony gets an extension. You heard it here first!

Based on the article by Polzin, TG just completely convinced he has it right and is going to coach until he isnt the coach....exactly. Lets see if Polzin gets it right and doesnt say he will be fired in the coming days only to be dragged out weeks on.

The platitues TG offered in the article sure sound like he knows he will be out of a job.

If one clearly states that they had all the recruits they wanted in place....then it really just comes down to coaching and player development.

Well Im glad I got to Yost before the gates open and can sit in the tiny lobby cause whooo buddy it is snotty out there. Sideways snow!

Actually had been reading a 6pm start all day....but I forgot that I was reading central time zone articles. Oh well!

Random thought I had on the way home from work listening to the game…it’s been 17 years since the last natty title…it was 16 between the last titles. Actually made me feel old more than anything haha.

Holy effing s, Badgers might be the worst defensive team I've ever seen. Gave up more chances on their power play and got scored on TWICE in the final minutes, with one being waved off.

Also, we are so blessed to have someone like Posick call the radio/TV. These Michigan buffoons are making my ears bleed.

The color guy on TV said "Michigan was winning the saves". Can't make this stuff up. The play by play guy said UW has a new player today too....Juggernauth.

Predictable outcome tonight.

He's so close to the problem he doesn't see it or he would figure out a way to fix it. Brandt being new may have ideas to fix this, but he's in no position to impose his ideas onto the team.

The stands are empty. They had a "stripe out" that was I guess pathetically embarrassing to say the least. Last place in the Big Ten. He has never won an NCAA tournament game in 7 years. Granato has a mental problem or he is a liar. Lol. How else does he keep saying the BS he keeps saying? Come on. This crazyness has to stop and it has to be dealt with by the administrators.

It isn't what makes a great competitor that spirit to fight the never dies? That belief in yourself that under the worst possible circumstances you will succeed. I'm not saying keep him, I'm just trying to get inside his head.

What he'd probably like to say but maybe he can't say it due to ncaa rules is that Mr. Fink is going to save the day? We all know that's not going to be enough and it's over.

The overtime was thier worst period of the night. They were playing not to lose instead of to win.

Obviously I feel bad for the kids. But from that last power play on, they were noticeably playing not to lose and could not handle how aggressive Michigan came at them. It showed.

The boys get into trouble when they start icing the puck and lob it out of the zone and gove possession rt back. MI clearly took advantage of that with possession time the last 5mins of reg and all of OT. There was seemingly no desire to posess and move the puck forward. Frantic and panicking is a better description.

I'm going back again for more punishment tonight. I don't doubt that TG is a great guy and probably relates to the players well too. It's just the system and player development that cabnot anymore be overlooked.

No excuse not to win the games when you pot 5 legit goals.

How is it that OSU dominates a PSU team 5-1 that gives WI fits every time bc of their pace and shot generation...but WI is hapless against them?

Hastings and Larson at St. Cloud both signed long term extensions through 27/28. Even though they earn significantly less ($300-350K/yr) than Rohlik, they have required university investments into their programs written in....making it harder for them to walk away. And I feel in my gut that theu are off the table.

At the game last night, I heard quite a few MI fans state that Rohlik was the guy...unsolicited. Not that that means anything.

Additionally, next yr there will be a 4th paid coach...finally. The more I look at it, the target is getting bigger and bigger on Rohlik's back.
