Game end time no more than 30 minutes ago and Osiecki is already retweeting recruit highlights... Coach the freaking kids. Freakin’ bag skate them for being lazy.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2019-2020: Time to Get Offensive

It's NOT early anymore. Ive really been biting my lip about the coaches; no more.

"It's early". "We're young". "Weren't ready". "No puck-luck". "Gotta be stronger". As WISC posted, what's the excuse this time? We can sign all the blue chippers we want...It wont matter with these guys. Look what the USNTDP coaches do with 16 and 17 year olds...they beat college teams. It's time to go outside the program and get coaches who have NO connection with UW.

Some of us blame offense, some blame defense, some blame goaltending. That's it boys, the entire team is abelow average college hockey team.

As of right now, I'm repeating the past 5+ years. My sports money earmarked for WI hockey is now going to the NHL again. My entertainment dollar is too important to me to watch this crap. It was no surprise to me that earlier in the week it was reported that season ticket sales are down AGAIN this year, but gate sales are up. That tells me people are "waiting to see what happens". 6-7 certainly won't help ANY sales.

Gary Andersen pulled the wool over Alvarez' eyes, now 3 Badger hockey alums did. Maybe Donny saw the forest through the trees. Call me bitter, you better believe it.

What a huge disappointment.

I listen to the games on radio (no cable) and participate in Milewski's weekly FB Live things. MN Radio pointed out WI stunk at passing tonight, and gave up odd man rushes. Seemed to be on point with those takes....any input from here?

From the "average" stats of the full rosters (not only dressed), MN-WI are really even. Same height, 8lbs difference in weight, and WI only 12 days younger than MN. 4-1 did surprise me (I thought MN would win, of course ;) ) but not 4-1....

True that the Badgers couldn't find a handle on the puck a lot of the night. Once the Goph's got the lead, I'd say you beat us the way that we used to beat you. Goph's blocked a ton of shots,(30?) packed it in around the net had good sticks and just generally frustrated the Badger offense. I'd say Bucky had the puck 2/3's of this game, but couldn't get it in the net. Blocking shots and having good sticks leads to rushes the other way, and while there weren't tons of them, there were enough. Gophers played very un-Gopher-like to me, which is maybe what you're looking for from Bob.

Badger's will be better, but Oz just said on the post game that they weren't ready, even though they worked on the specific things they had problems with tonight all week. Sounds like they didn't have a great week of practice and had a lot of turnovers and bad passing this week. Carried over to the game as it usually does. I'd say that this was a 2 steps back performance after looking like they were maybe turning a corner last week with much more solid play.

Both teams were kind of inconsistent with their play, but the Badgers just really did not have it together tonight for long stretches.

I'll tell you what, that 2nd period (until the last couple minutes) scared the bejeezus out of us. At one point, it was 13-3 SOG in favor of WI, and yes, the PPs helped, but still.

Right on brother, very well put. I agree 100%

Great, then quit watching. Plenty of other stuff to do. There won't be a new staff at UW for at least two years.

So...they go 9 years out of the ncaa’s? Is that finally enough? Jesus, they needed Rob Andringa to come in and teach badger hockey history because these kids were like 7 when burish won a title and weren’t born when UW was a power.

No, Granato and Oseicki don’t need 2 more years after 4 consecutive out of the ncaa’s. If they’re retained next season they mke the FF or it’s time to think outside the box, fire them and like MCR said hire someone outside the badger tree.

This young of a team? Assuming 3 year retainment, as I am with the Gophers, you MAKE the tourney next year, and THEN make a run the year after that. Jesus, you sound like us. ;)

Frustrating for you guys, who are used to great hockey and a great atmosphere to watch it in. But at least with the high end talent you have, there's a chance of turning it around and being a player next spring. At UND the last two years, there wasn't that talent and there was never really much reason to think they would be there in late March. And they weren't.

There is just no way in this universe PSU or OSU or even ND should be in the same discussion with UW in college hockey. Despite all the trash talk, most UND fans I know really like UW hockey and what it's been for UND's own history.
