Didn't see the replay but Posick said that last rush was half a puck across the line... heartbreaking, but you see that kind of finish a lot in OT, especially in a game like this.
Encouraged by the way the boys kept fighting and coming back after going down a goal so many times. They didn't have their very best stuff but they battled. ND just beat us up in front of the net as I thought they would try to do. Exciting hockey game, heck of an effort, just sucks to come so close to points and come up empty tonight.

Class would be staying the hell out of other threads for teams you don’t follow. You don’t see me in ped state threads or any other teams fan thread unless I have something positive to say.

Heartbreaking loss. That puck just stopped when it got halfway over the line. Boys played good. I’m blaming tonight’s loss on two things off the ice:
1. The arena “security” guard who broke up Cole Caufield and K’Andre Miller’s pregame football game from the tunnel to the seats an hour before game time. They seem to have started this last night and got a win. Heaven forbid the boys have fun before the game, and heaven forbid even more that fans might see the team having fun.
2. Whoever decided to start the wave during a hockey game, never mind a hockey game against the fourth-ranked team that is tied at 3. Get that football nonsense out of the Kohl Center. I never want to see that crap again. Watch the **** game fans!

All of the individuals responsible are in jail or are dead. I think JoePa was a piece of chit. But the Ped State is incredibly offensive to the millions of good PSU people both past and present. And certainly no one on our hockey team has anything to do with it.
I was on this forum when we swept your butts and I did not post. But I got attacked with Ped State the next week when I talked about the Michigan State loss which was brought up in this thread. I was positive about Wisconsin until classless behavior started. Check my posts.
Only one fine gent defended me and I was surprised at the venom of many classless posters. So I'm drinking a scotch savoring our sweep and your back breaking loss and hopefully teaching you guys a lesson in manners.
If I was a troll I'd be in the Minnesota thread right now.

Yeah, K was down in the tunnel flinging it to Cole two sections over in the stands. The kids standing at the tunnel were having a great time watching it. Cole and K were having a blast. And that means Kohl Center security had to step in and tell Cole to knock it off. I mean, can’t be having fun at the Kohl Center, even if you are a Badger...

$150 dollar observations....
UND scores 3 goalmouth scrum goals. Is no one capable of looking behind themselves to clear out or coming down from above and tie these people up or knock them on their asses? Not once? They ALWAYS end up looking at the net and not behind themselves. All 3 were preventable with proper play.
The 2nd period all they did was stand around and watch UND until 5 to go in the 3rd. Move your feet in the D zone. Get the Fing puck. Maybe they could have scored instead of watching. There was a play on the PP where UW won the puck back to the point and the D, Miller maybe, just watched the puck slide by just out of reach. He never moved his feet or even lunged at the puck. LAZY. Lots of LAZY play that period.
The Hammer was way over-moving the whole game. The first goal was a direct result of that, plus UW not decking people in front. He got lucky on a couple more instances where he recovered but made his own life way harder than it needed to be. He is reverting back to old habits.
All 4 UW goals scored were blocker side high. Dude is a sieve in that spot. Of course not scoring on 3 or 4 breakaways sucks as well. And they were the right people in those spots.
If this team didn't have the fab 3 Fr F, they would suck. Bad. Linus and Little D wouldn't be enough to save them. Holloway is a stud. What a heavy shot.

Boston College ~ 11th
Merrimack ~ 51st

Quite honestly what UW fans say in their own thread should be none of your concern. If they come to the Penn State thread and say it, that is another matter entirely.
We call gophers rodents and lots of other teams other names. It's not being done to antagonize you...nobody expects you to be here. Go insult UW in your own thread like everyone else on USCHO. I don't think it's necessary to say Ped State but I can't stop it. With any luck whoever is harping on the ped state moniker will start using it on Michigan State and forget about you guys...

With the above in mind... For those that are yotching about a 6-6 start:
What do you expect with that kind of schedule?
- 5-6-0 record against top 18 opponents. Isn't the saying go even against the great teams and then win the games you should? 1-0-0 against teams they should beat. Our next two opponents are teams we should beat.
In regards to improvement, what are your expectations of these players?
- Turcotte-Caufield-Holloway-Lindmark move a lot of the players down a peg. Really hard to improve a stat line with less opportunity. I think a big part of the struggle we are seeing is the young studs are still adjusting to the NCAA game. Hell, Caufield has struggled for a little bit now in terms of goal scoring. Holloway had a four game stretch with 0 points and now has a point in each of his last 3 games.
-PK last year was 74%. Right now it is 82%. That's improvement.
-PP last year was 16.7%. Right now it is 23.5%. Improvement.
-Shots for per game is +2 compared to last year. However, scoring is down per game by about 0.4. However (again), we are getting into big ten play where defense isn't usually as stingy (except ND).

LOL! Good point, thats even worse! Quite a few years ago, some genius keyed up "Jump Around" at the beginning of the 3rd period. It wasn't received well!
