"We're young"....I was hoping I wasn't going to hear that.

Hopefully that goal gets Caufield and Turcotte rolling for the second half..

Who knows what the second half will bring. With a lot of home games it seems fairly equal chance that they could string together some wins, or string together some more losses.

I think if nothing else, it's been good for Turcotte and Caufield to be role players on this team rather than feel they have to carry the whole team. They don't at the WJ's and they don't when they get back, they just have to play hockey.

I'd like to think some of K'Andre's mistakes on the Big Stage will sink in and he'll concentrate on being more responsible. I don't think there's any doubt that Sandelin is preaching the same things about defensive responsibility to these guys that the staff here has been all year. Sometimes hearing it from another voice helps to finally get the message through.

We'll see- Oftentimes guys come back from playing the high level, high speed hockey at the WJ's and go on a tear in the NCAA. Let's hope something like that happens.

4 games against OSU and two against PSU should give them a chance to climb in the PW. The only top 10 teams they play though, so they better make the most of those opportunities.

Down after 1 to USNDT. Radio guys can’t use the youth excuse on this one, so they tell us about the talent. What about the talent in cardinal and white? They say we played better, but I’d take playing worse if we could win a few games in the process.

They scratch out a 3-2 win. On to the 2nd half of the season.

Seems as though the FB team took on the personality of the Men's hockey team today, that SUCKED!

Some interesting things:

Sean Dhooghe with a game misconduct for abuse of officials.

All three goalies played at least 10 minutes. Lebedeff gives up two goals, Berry and Blomquist keep clean sheets. Of course, until we see what awful things the defense did on those goals, I’m not ragging on DL.

I listened to game and both on Lebby were over his glove snipes, which seems to be where he gets beat often.

Interesting tweet from Todd M. yesterday:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Not sure if this is a result of the rumors out there that Saginaw was pursuing Alex Turcotte for the second half of the season, but worth noting anyway. <a href="https://t.co/cxyYJK4G6K">pic.twitter.com/cxyYJK4G6K</a></p>— Todd Milewski (@ToddMilewski) <a href="https://twitter.com/ToddMilewski/status/1213911359089512448?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 5, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Game week! I have no idea what to expect for the 2nd half. I have to be optimistic that they will figure things out. Tough task with Ohio St coming in this weekend.

Predictions?

I just hopped aboard to wonder the exact things.

*Do we wipe the slate clean and start over?
I was cautiously optimistic all summer and didn't expect this. I will remain cautiously optimistic, but let's start anew for 2020.

*Will Granato & friends change their approach to this team?
The coaches HAVE to do something different because it "ain't workin'".

*Will anybody (Turcotte) "bail-out" for the OHL or AHL?
How can you blame anybody if they do?

I'm really sick of *****ing about this program and I'm ready for somebody to step up and get this program heading in the right direction, whether it's Granato, the Emperor, or the players themselves.

I have no idea what to expect for the 2nd half.

I really struggled thinking about how to answer this question. I have decided my answer is: I don't see any reason to expect any major upswing in the play of the team. I sure hope I am wrong.

.500 the rest of the way. I think the vaunted freshman are too immature and selfish and they don’t have A. Burish to kick their asses into gear.

Also, Miller and Kalynuk have not improved year over year.

Sauer’s players improved year over year pretty consistently. Granato played for Sauer so I don’t understand the disconnect.
