Zirbel deserves some time. I don't think I was ever disappointed in his effort last year.

Agree 100%, even under MM he was always flying around and being active, him and Freytag were/are under-rated players.

Parise it's good to be playing the Badgers. It's what college hockey is supposed to be.

And it's OK if it's supported partly by our memories.
 
solo, you brought tears to my eyes. One of the best nostalgic rants ever. "Back in the day" millennials, this was common and it was serious! There was no social media, so we took our rants out in person.

Personally, if I walked out of a game with a voice, I failed.

It's a known fact that Howie is from Greater Grand Forks, but he played for C.C. I wonder if his hatred of the Sioux came from the school not recruiting him (if they didn't?)

Omg the good old days. Let’s bring em’ back. Granato understands this rivalry for sure.

I’m more pumped for this weekend than any other save when Wisconsin plays the 🐀.

I hope Mersch hip checks a whioux into the bench in front of Berry!!!

Familiarity breeds contempt. And just imagine how much more contempt you'd have for NoDak's if you actually had to share a covered wagon with them for 18 years!



Sucks that Linus is out as he had perhaps his best all around weekend last week.

Tough spot for Jack G, but he seems like a real gamer, so perhaps moving up in a big game will give him a little confidence and get him going.

Jack B is getting the net. The boys probably owe him, as they didn't play well in front of him in his last two starts. Good time to pay him back. We've been terrible at finding the right frame of mind for Friday's. Either too tight or too loose, gotta find that sweet spot and play downhill right out of the gate.

Probably going to spring the $ to watch, as the Nacho as a league is going to become a complete charity case in a year or two anyway. I'll just save my receipt.

Somebody get John Newberry to Grand Forks to greet Archibald with a squirt or two.

Look out Sue -- This time we have the little guy!

It’s both. Berry is trash. Defense is trash. Whole team is trash. So much standing and watching. Can’t connect a pass. Tischke and Inamoto are the worst defenders on the team that get playing time. Berry can make an excellent save and then let in a floater. Right now UND has 4 goals on 15 shots.

They just put Lebedeff in at 7:11 left in the 2nd period.

Probably should be 9-0. Just took our 3rd shot of the 2nd period with 2:30 to play...

Two goals were basically kicked in our own net by Badgers. Basically the same game we played last two Fridays, maybe a little worse.

Sue's F's are just eating up our D and doing to us what we were wanting to do to them on the forecheck. Credit the Suzies a lot, but we're making them look like they're going to coast to another title.


We're also just getting murdered in the F/O circle too, which to me is always somewhat of an indicator of hustle. Not our night all around.
 
I swear it’s like North Dakota makes one pass and it’s out of the zone. Takes 3-5 attempts for Wisconsin most times.

Turned it off. Pathetic effort, bad coaching etc. if you can’t come out firing against one of your two biggest rivals forget it. Look, I want to be optimistic but this is the same old ****.

EDIT: by bad coaching I mean the kids have to come out ready to kick *** particularly against rivals. Every team has off nights but this is now a consistent pattern of the last year and 1/2 or thereabouts.

Yeah, I think it only bothers me so much now because it's the way it was a lot of last year. One night they looked awful, next they looked like a FF team. Best and worst team in hockey depending on the night. Somebody has to figure out how to fix that.

Tonight we can't make a single pass 15 feet to another guy, so it's not just getting outworked. They are way off their game in every aspect. Every team has nights like that, but it gets suspicious when it's every Friday.

We might end up with more shots thanks to these last PP's, but it's pretty misleading. Almost every one of Sue's shots is a high quality scoring chance on the night, not to mention a couple of pipes.

Boys better get some sleep tonight and get up and try to figure out how to be a lot better tomorrow.
