Wisconsin Hockey 2018-2019 Part 2: Still not time for the witty thread title.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2018-2019 Part 2: Still not time for the witty thread title.

****ing Doogs is an absolute freak. I'm surprised his chest has any room for his large heart.

**** the Peds. 6 penalties in a row ON ONE TEAM in the final period? Does somebody have pictures of somebody?

Listening on the radio and Badgers left the ice after the hit without shaking hands. Seisse sp? took exception apparently.

Ah, makes sense for UW. That steusse kid(sp?) is a *****. Similarly how the hell you can board someone after the whistle and not get a dq is unreal

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2018-2019 Part 2: Still not time for the witty thread title.

I hope we can hear more on this. I hear Evan Barrett for PSU leveled Kalynuk and UW coaches took exception. Tony, Oz and Winchester barked at the player evidently? Anyone see or hear more?

Tony was talking at Sucese a little as they were walking off but Strobel kind of pulled Tony along. PSU kid was just skating off and bumped Winnie who was just walking straight ahead across the ice with his hands in his pockets next to Oz. When the kid bumped him Winnie spun around and those hands came out, but I'd say it was just reflexes of an old time hockey player and nothing came of it.

Huge win without Tischke most of the night. Going to be tough if Peter can't go tomorrow.

Here’s the hit: https://youtu.be/HTe7dfzVQUQ

Apologies, was listening to 1310 in the background.

Not the worst hit i’ve Seen but definitely unnecessary and I don’t blame the coaches at all for chirping at PSU.
And by the way i’m Starting to really hate Ped state hockey.

Wow. Well, 4 game win streak and everything on the line who knows? Uw just might take the series.

What happened to tischke?

Boarding and lifts his arm into head of Kalynuk. Should have been a DQ.

Good for hockey to have some rivalries brewing in the BIG10. I can hear the UW student section chanting some Ped State/Sandusky chant now. Something totally inappropriate.

I REALLYhope the crease creatures do that and **** off gadowsky like the uw fans ****ed off herb brooks in the late 70’s!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2018-2019 Part 2: Still not time for the witty thread title.

We played really well the first half of the game, but once Tiscke went down you could see the defense begin to wear down, you knew it was only a matter of time. And Inamoto finds the absolute worst times to take penalties, it's amazing. We're missing Miller, Tiscke is hurt and Inamoto puts us down a 3rd defenseman not once, but twice.

As far as the play at the end of the period, Barrett knew time was going to expire, and decided to hammer Kalynuk into the boards as the horn sounded. You could hear the referee some over the feed and he did call a penalty at the end, although I don't see it reflected in the stats on USCHO.com. And yeah, Tony, Oz, Stroebel and Winchester were all out on the ice yelling at the Penn State players afterwards. Probably not the wisest thing for them to do, but I understand why they were upset.

Lebedeff seemed out of position several times, but the kid made some fantastic saves when we needed them most. Malone and Dooghie had huge games as well. Tomorrow night should be interesting, I hope Tiscke and Kalynuk are both on the ice, we need both of them.

I wonder if they will fly Bunz in to play D if they know Tischke can't go?

Barratt is a heady player, can't tell me he didn't know the game was over. We'll see what the B1G says overnight. I'd definitely kick the kid tomorrow. No room for that kind of BS in the college game.

The Finnish Hammer was great tonight. That's the kind of play we need in the post season. PK was pretty great tonight too.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2018-2019 Part 2: Still not time for the witty thread title.

Radio postgame they did say it was a 5 min and DQ, so he's out tomorrow. Also a 2 min minor for roughing for badgers and 2 minutes for bench

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2018-2019 Part 2: Still not time for the witty thread title.

Refs-- I don't often ***** about Refs, but Achan gets hooked on a scoring chance and they take him for embellishment. Ok fine. But our boys touch a PSU player in front of the net, (or behind the net in the case Baker) they go down like they were shot, and get a couple of Power Plays. Let them play or don't, I dont care, but just be freakin' consistent.

Winnie gets a penalty too? He must have said something because I can't imagine what else it was for. Funny, Cole Hults is listed at 6'2" and on skates and he still has to look up at Winchester. Probably shouldn't run into that guy.

It was checking from behind ATW and a game misconduct. Not a DQ. That would have to come from the B1G office at this point because the refs are pansies.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2018-2019 Part 2: Still not time for the witty thread title.

How does a coach get a game misconduct? That's a new one for me.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey 2018-2019 Part 2: Still not time for the witty thread title.

Tischke leaving just a couple minutes into the game and not returning at all wouldn't seem to bode well for him being able to go tonight.

I thought our Defensemen were really exceptional overall. Sure, there were a few lapses here and there, you can't always make every play, but they were excellent at covering the long breakout resulting in several icing calls, they were excellent on covering the rushes in position, and good at killing plays quickly and turning the puck around. When you consider that Peltonen didn't play much late, it took a big effort with huge minutes from Kalynuk, Inamoto, Ess, and Emberson to effectively keep PSU in check. It's concerning as to whether those four can comeback physically with the same effort and tenacity it's going to take to end PSU's season tonight. Forwards are going to have to be extra sharp on the back check as well as work even harder to keep more possession in the O-zone. It's super hard to end anyone's season, but the best chance will be tonight.

Badgers were really good at getting to their game plan from the puck drop and sticking to it all night. I think they can play better, but when things aren't going great in the flow of the game, it was encouraging to see them just keep working within the structure and not fall apart.

Gotta believe tempers will be flaring after last night, but have to keep in mind that the best revenge is to send the other guys to the golf course early.

Anyone got video of Brad Winchester "pushing" Cole Hults?
