Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2017-2018

Does anyone know when NCAA quarterfinal tickets will go on sale? The friend I stay with in Madison has started getting into this enough that he'd like to go. He's originally from Alabama, so I'm encouraging this fascination with ice hockey.

The period for submitting an application for a ticket started Monday the 19th, and (supposedly) ended about a half-hour ago. You could go to the web site right now, and see what happens.

If history is an indicator, they'll probably go on sale to the general public Monday at 8:30 or 9am (and be sold out by 9:30).

To see what they would say, I called the ticket office just now and asked if I could add a ticket to my application, and (after a couple minutes of discussion on their end) they said OK. So (I think) I now have an extra that your friend is welcome to. (I don't know if it means he has to sit next to me or not.)

Thanks. I've emailed him to see how he wants to make contact.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2017-2018

I sent you his email in a Rep comment.

Do I correctly infer from his email what he does for a living? Wow. He may come to regret this; we may never get around to talking hockey, I'll have so many other questions for him. :-)

Other years, they have waited until after 'selection Sunday' to print up the tickets, so that they can read "Wisconsin vs Robert Morris" etc. So they won't become available until Tuesday or Wednesday. But I'll let him know all that.

You have most likely inferred correctly; he runs the polling operation that works out of the Marquette University Law School.

I wasn't sure how 'coy' I should be about it. I recognized the name immediately. During his 'busy season', more than once I've tuned in to watch the video release of his/their latest poll. Not a total politics geek, but certainly more interested that the average person (besides having been a math major, so there's that aspect to it, as well.) I'll try not to drive him crazy.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2017-2018

Mauermann will be back, Shaver not. I saw a tweet about free video, I may have to bug out of work early today.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2017-2018

The Badgers play Saturday-- 2:00 pm. Getting Mauermann back is HUGE!!

You just ruined my day.....my metal clock has been off all week. I still don't want to work. Heck, I could drive to watch the game tomorrow....interesting.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2017-2018

I saw a tweet about free video,

Both the UW web site and the Minnesota web site have added links to BTN2GO for video. BTN2GO is sometimes free and sometimes charges, or you have to have a cable TV package that includes BTN. Right now, their web site has a "$" symbol on some events and not others, and the WCHA games do not have the "$", so that's encouraging.

Per GopherSports.com: Saturday’s semifinal games will be streamed for free online at WCHA.com and GopherSports.com. Sunday’s championship game will air live on FOX Sports North as well as online via FOX Sports GO.

Being that all the games from Ridder are already on btn2go, I'm sure that's what they are using to host the WCHA.com stream.

Yesterday afternoon, there was no link for video at the UM web site. I was getting nervous. The link has been added since then.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2017-2018

Never count on gophersports.com to work properly.

Wonderbar.

I sure hope the gals have a great weekend, looks like the men's team has me going to Fleet Farm tomorrow for some liquid.

It's a great day for hockey! On,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Wisconsin! Yeah I'm in a pizzy mood.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2017-2018

Right, but add onto Labahn with the SERF rebuild. Just build the SERF up instead of a giant footprint on the ground and give some to footprint to Labahn. Or at least leave a open footprint to add onto Labahn at a later date. Obviously this is all too late, just another example of women's hockey being the ugly stepchild.

I know the architects of LaBahn and asked them if it was designed to be expanded. They told me that, although they (architects) had recommended it be designed for expansion, monetary concerns of UW kept it from being done. Of course, the women could always play in the Kohl, but it would be nice to have a 5K arena.
