Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2017-2018

The spirit on North Dakota hockey lives on!

Vilma Tanskanen with a 2nd period high-stick that was as much a punch to the jaw as anything, and a 1st period body check into the boards that put Baylee Wellhausen out of the game (with what had all the earmarks of a shoulder dislocation/separation. Who knows how long she may be out.)

Both the X sue players played dirty tonight. You could sure tell when they were on the ice. Just follow the trail of blood and loose limbs
on the ice.

Good bet they went through the Lamoureux training program in Fargo. :D

They must have hid the stretchers and got the blood shaved off the ice before they took pictures. In 2 weeks UW gets to play Ms. Kohlstadt. I wonder if she'll deliver any more concussions to UW players.

Very weird watching 2 x sue goalies play each other last night. Soup played well again, she's doing a very nice job. Seeing how much resistance MU put up I'd go with Soup again. Maybe Syracuse will be a chance to get Blesi some ice time. It would be nice to get a prognosis and timetable on Cece, but Heaven forbid if MJ says anything.

I did not see the Wellhausen injury, was it when the 2 players chased the puck down in the second period and slammed into the boards?

I appreciate the live lookin of the Packer's game.

No Varsity at the end or between the 2nd and 3rd periods? I'm glad they brought back the historical video to open the intros.

Nice to see the 2 Chicago girls get the first goals of the game (dismal Bears-Packers game notwithstanding)
Hope they keep the I-94 recruiting pipeline going!

That's seriously amazing that it was a former NoDak player

Not in person but I know the Lams were the biggest hacks in women's hockey
Lashombe was worse. The Lams played like girls who grew up playing with older brothers. Lashombe played like she learned to play in a prison yard.

I think Kelly Terry still has a mark from the cross-check she took from LaShomb after scoring a goal...

You can see it at about the 2:50 mark of the following video.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2017-2018

Interesting game last night. The ref's were ok Thursday but lost their minds last night. The Lakers got totally screwed on 5 minute major call. That was a pretty much harmless play, Steffen really sold that bigtime, she could have got a penalty. There was no reason to review the 2nd goal. The linepeople were even bad. Why did Norby get a 10?

Great to see Pettet get that hatty. Awesome confidence builder for her.

Rowe gets my player of the game, the 7th D playing wing on the 3rd line in place of Wellhausen and she played great. It was interesting MJ didn't redo the lines with her out, he just plugged Rowe in. And it worked.

Soup played very well, she had some tough saves as the game wore on. Only goal was a in tight top shelf rebound on the pp. I do think she could improve on rebound control in general, but it's not awful by any means.

The Freshman D pair played good but they got bottled up for extended periods a few times.

Mauermann is a beast, she had a play where she passed 2 Lakers to get to a puck that would have been icing. She plays with such energy. I think she was UW's best player last night.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2017-2018

I've heard there will be no PK award this year, they'll give two next year

That makes sense to me, one for Pankowski and one for Clark.

I thought the crowd was a little thin Friday for an evening game. I'm glad they brought back the historical video, they did not play it the weekend before, just that cheesy player video. And they skipped Varsity a couple times the last 2 weekends, they should get their act together.

Gotta like our freshmen! They really played well especially Pettet on Friday. Different players stepped up each night and Campbell looked strong in net. The only bad on the weekend was the Wellhausen injury. I hope she is not out too long. They will need her as the this season progresses.

So far your glass is half full outlook is proving correct. :) Wellhausen was on the bench during warmups Friday without a sling or anything, and moving around like normal, so hopefully it was precautionary that she did not play.

From reading the rodent thread, our Fr seem to be more integrated into the systems than theirs, or ours are just smarter. We already have better coaches than them.

The women were introduced at the football game Saturday and she was there, again, with no sling or anything. She posted an instagram from the game with a comment that she was there with a "bum arm"

(No, I'm not stalking her. Or if I am, I'm being encouraged by instagram to do so. Once you click on something, instagram "suggests" other posts you might be interested in. At some point, I clicked on something from the UW Volleyball team's account or the hockey team's account or some such, and ever since, it keeps suggesting posts from players, other UW teams, other college teams, etc etc. And I keep clicking on them Its insidious, I tell ya!)
