Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2016-2017
Fantastic results against a kinda top 10 team. UW dominated both games territorialy. I think OSU had better offensive spurts than BSU. Awesome to see Mauermann break out this weekend with 3 goals and it was great to see Roque wake up a bit with a 4 pt game today. Mauermann's, Roque's and Nurse's first goals were absolute snipes. Clark did not score, but she was UW's most dominant player. She was on the puck like she was glued to it. Honestly you really couldn't tell Pankowski and Cogan were missing. PP was 20% this weekend.
.
Fantastic to erase Raty from the record book with ARD now holding the ncaa record for career shutouts. I hope she can get to 60 shut outs by the end of the season.
Back to Mauermann...she needs to play on a regular shift. She is fast, aggressive and has the ability to score. It's a little sad she's stuck on the 4th line, which means she hardly plays when all the F's are there. She sure proved she's worthy of playing a regular shift with talented linemates. I think sticking her with Pankowski and Clark would be interesting and move Cogan down to the 4th line. I can easily see Clark setting up Pankowski and Mauermann. Clark's and Pankowski's production is down and Mauemann might be the spark to get them going. I don't think you want to mess with the 2nd and 3rd lines.
A week off this upcoming weekend. Hopefully Cogan can get healthy and Pankowski got her scoring juju back from being with team USA.
