Our mascot. Is a cow.
Also your mascot is ugly. Haha

Badgers played terrible last night, decent in the first but terrible throughout rest of the game.
Many fans made the trip from Wisconsin. Alot of seats were full but alot of seats were empty, no where close to a sellout.

I won the nightly guess the attendance contest in our section with an awe inspiring guess of 15,069 and the actual attendance was 15,137. Looked right to me. Nobody claims/claimed it was a sellout. The Qwest seats 16,680 for hockey.

Either way, great crowd and gotta be cool in Omaha to have a D-1 program to follow especially now that you are in a real conference with rivals who make better geographical sense.

The cowbells need to go though. Starting tonight. Leave them home. :p

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

I like reading posts in this thread about the game. Because they're not "UNO played well" but "Wisconsin played bad". I suppose that's one take on it.

Well it's kind of true. First goal was a nice shot but no one challenged the shooter he had all day to pick his spot. Second goal a terrible bounce lands right on the kids stick for the wide open net, Third goal our defenseman falls down and Hudson has all day to do whatever he wants and obviously the open net.

I will give Omaha credit though, they did a good job clogging things up in front of the net.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

The second goal was a GREAT effort by Searfoss, who shot, then, busted around the net to get his own rebound and bat it in. He skated hard and reached for that goal. It didn't land on his stick, it was his own shot that he then had to get to. He followed through and stayed with the play. I give him credit.

I don't know if UNO played an absolutley great game but they played well better than Wisconsin, but UNO definatly didn't play their best game either.

I have confidence that the Badgers will play better tonight, hopefully if I see the guys back at the hotel I'll give them a little talk.

Okay, the cowbells really suck.

I never thought much about the whinny Tech fans complaining about not being able to bring theirs into the KC, but thank GOD!

I think it's really cool that UNO is getting such a big crowd and am happy they will be a quality program to play against, but the bells are so soccer.

Martha Johnson disagrees. :p

He shot, and skated around the net just like every other hockey player in the world would do. And the puck bounced right to him and he batted it in. Extremely lucky.

So before you posted this, the thread contained these comments about the game:

Bucky better try to wake up before tomorrow night. Looking very sluggish tonight.

Badgers played terrible last night, decent in the first but terrible throughout rest of the game.

And this comment:

Big win tonight for UNO. I thought this would be a 2-1 type game and was very concerned if UW would have gone up 2-0. Other than Sustr, UNO did a very good job of staying out of the box, which I can see is a must against this team. Faulkner was solid, UNO blocked a lot of shots, and cashed in on a couple opportunities. The freshman line is a very high energy group. Hudson is probably UNO's "go to" goal scorer. Side note, Terry Broadhurst, probably UNO's best offensive player, was out tonight.

I thought I was a whiner. I'd hate to be around when you actually have a point...

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

hey guys,

is tonight's game going to be found on any webcast? I'd love to be able to watch this one

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

thanks. do you have a link for that site? I'm thinking I'm going to pay for this one!

Was I whining? I thought I was stating. I think you took that a little too seriously. This is just the internet.

Not sure if Id say you were whining, but you definetly do come across as a jerk who is here just to talk trash. Come talk to us when you guys have won 6 NCAA championships.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

If you'll permit me...

Wisconsin gave us Kemp and is thus the godfather of UNO hockey. Respect.
UNO caught some bounces this weekend; had the 3rd period last night been 30 minutes long, UW would certainly have won.
Your freshmen are awesome. After a summer in Bucky's conditioning regime, they should be positively frightening.

Even accounting for some pro departures, you'll be in the FF again soon.

See you down the road.
