I try not to drop names, but back when MCR Jr was still active in AAA youth, he occasionally 'tended with the Badgers at their summer activities. He mentioned Jake quite a few times coming up to him razzing him about an easy score as well as giving him props for a job well done.

Good people deserve good things to happen to them; maybe Jake is living that out right now.

what the hell is w/that mensa candidate who perpetually gets on the 60 blog and says Eaves is going to the New Jersey Devils?

disgruntled relative of a player riding the pines or Sauer advocate?

I don't get it.

but let's play the game for a minute. if Eaves leaves for NJ, does Oseicki break his contract w/OSU, Gwoz make a move, Granato?

Basically what happened was, before DPlaya left for his new home, me and 60 Min we used to write with him for the Hockey In Wisconsin blog when it was in the blogger format. A person that I trusted, (former All-American at a WCHA school, former USHL coach) personally told me that he was down at the annual coaches meetings in Florida and he was told that Eaves was leaving to take the Devils job. I posted the information on the old HIW site that there was a rumor about Eaves to the Devils and a lot of people got ****ed even though I clearly stated it was only a rumor.

In retrospect it was the wrong decision to post anything about it even though I stated it was only a rumor. Anyways, I guess 3 and a half years later people decide to post comments about it in the blog.

I apologized over and over again but I guess some people still hold grudges.

Eaves isn't going any where.

got it. thanks for the clarification. that's seriously weird for someone to hold that sort of a "grudge" if that's what you can call it for this long. and w/your caveat of "this is a rumor' it's even weirder that someone would get so bent about it. whatever though whomever it is can stick it

here's to looking forward to an exciting 2nd half where UW has a chance to land in the Top 4-5 WCHA if they continue to work hard.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

Don't get mad at me people but who will be taking Ramage's spot this weekend I want to see Drake play with Faust on 3rd D pairing and Johnson paired with Simonelli on 2nd. Not trying to be a cliché but Springer makes me mad and scared when he gets the pucks on his stick. I know the game is still pretty much a week away but I would love to know now.

FYI - February 4th is Blake Geoffrion Bobblehead night at the Admirals game. The UW Band will also be there.

The official twitter for the mens hockey team also tweeted yesterday that it sounds as if they are going to honor Blake on January 7th at the Kohl Center.

Well played sir.

I'm shocked it's not on the 60 min blog yet. What a bunch of slackers.....;) Feel free to quote me. :D

In other breaking news......UW is playing UMass this week. Goody is getting the Thursday start and Faust is paired with Johnson, replacing Rammer.

Now for commentary.....I am really shocked Eaves has kept the lines so stable inspite of the lack of 5 on 5 scoring. I like stable line combos, but a little part of me wonders "what if" he did juggle lines to see if they can ramp up the 5 on 5 scoring. But, in looking at the guys on the roster, no other combos really pop out at me, but here's a try.

Mersch-Z-Smith
Murray-Dahl-Barnes
Johnson-Dolan-Little
Clark-Podge-Hartzog

The idea would be having Murray with Dahl and Barnes could get those guys going.

I'll play. I think Oz would be interested in coming back to UW. Gwoz seems a little bored @ DU, don't know if UW would be much of a challange to him like the OSU would have been. I can see him going to Penn St. for the challange (and they can afford him). Granato isn't experienced enough. I'd vote for Enrico Blase from Miami. UW would be a move up the ladder, and coaching in the big 11 conference is the pinnicale of the sport.

Why they didn't do this opening weekend against UAH w/ his brothers on the ice and family in the stands, still doesn't make sense to me (he was at the sunday game afterall), but I'll enjoy it none the less!!!

Might have to find my ode to Captain Asskicker one last time (just to **** Chuck off :D )

I think for this season, Dahl is in the best position to help the Badgers succeed. I look forward to what he can do for UW offensively in the coming seasons, but right now I like him centering the 4th line. Actually I like the lines the way they were against BSU to end the 1st half. Lee plays too weak to center the 2nd line, and while Turnbull may made a bone head play and take a dumb penalty on occasion, I like him in there w/ Mersch and Barnes. I think that line could go a long way in the 2nd half.

I think a redshirt for Drake is a good call at this point.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

I'll be interested to see if the UW is able to scrounge up any kind of band for the next two nights. Was at the basketball game on Tuesday and it sucked not having the band. First time I can remember being at a Badger men's basketball/hockey game without a band. In the past when a bowl game took out the main band, the UW at least brought out the alumni band or even a local high school band. Get ready for a lot of bad, canned music.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2010-2011, The next generation.

I was at the game Tuesday to but I thought without the band it was better, real easy to get into the game. To me the band can get a wee bit annoying but I sure love roll out the barrel haha. Anyway I hope the Badgers do well the weekend and get a sweep.

Really!? No On Wisconsin, no Varsity, no Bud Song, etc. I thought it was a good environment on Tuesday in spite of lack of band, not because of it. I'm curious what others think.
