Man, he dodged a bullet there. That could have done a lot of damage had it fallen a few degrees closer to the house.

Re: Winter Weather 2017-18 where EVERYONE argues.

Hearing the roof got blown off a hangar in LGA...

**** today.

It happened - there's video on Twitter. The wind at the NYC airports was insane, probably hurricane-strength gusts at times.

To put it another way - Mother Nature is helping renovate the LGA sh*thole.

Where is Jimjamesak?

Oh, I am well aware of how bad the winds were in LGA, DCA, and PHL were yesterday. When ops told me about the hangar, they mentioned Hurricane Sandy didn't even do that.

We're still in the process of getting everything back together.

Re: Winter Weather 2017-18 where EVERYONE argues.

D-mn.

High winds yesterday nearly blew a semi off the Mackinac Bridge.

When I had my Wrangler, which is basically a square box on wheels, it got moved on the highway when there were high winds. I can only imagine a semi.....

I didn't realize it was one of those buildings. They're iconic. You can actually see them in photos of the airport going all the way back to the beginning. You can see 4 of them in this photo:

I see Lockheed Constellations, DC-3s, Electras(?) or Convairs(?). This has to be post war (mid 50s?)

Are those WPA structures?

Re: Winter Weather 2017-18 where EVERYONE argues.

Sounds like we’re going to get walloped again tomorrow.

Re: Winter Weather 2017-18 where EVERYONE argues.

An of course the Weather Terrorists have overdone it again. They are already cutting that in half. Meanwhile every district cancelled school last night and we havent gotten even a centimeter yet and wont til this afternoon.

The snow likely won't be as much as originally forecast, but the streets outside my building have a nice layer of icy slush upon which the snow will sit. That makes for the most fun!

The good side of this is that I'm getting a two-hour early parole today because of the weather.

Re: Winter Weather 2017-18 where EVERYONE argues.

Good thing every school district in the metro cancelled...still no snow. What a hilarious miscalculation.
