Who's going to win it all?

Fishman'81

Black Bear since D-2
The two best teams from the East are in, but I'm guessing that Point will take home the hardware. I'd have them beating Trinity 4-2 in the NC game.

My money's on Adrian at this point. Not a pretty win tonight, but I think they'll be hungry coming in to Frozen Four weekend. Arguably the most dangerous team on paper - which I realize doesn't mean jack - and I think they'll be the best team on the ice next weekend.

Of course, we already know that the Plattsburgh Women won it all in the other DIII Ice Hockey Championship :)

Re: Who's going to win it all?

Some seriously good karma in Point these days. Men's hoops won D3 title today. Stevens Point HS won a state hoops title. And hockey advanced...

Hard to believe there won't be a SUNYAC team there. And I thought they were supposed to be the strongest men's D3 conference in the country. Bah!

Hats off to the four finalists especially Adrian since their women's team choked in such a big way.

All the home teams won. There is something to be said about home ice advantage, especially in one and done tournaments.

Re: Who's going to win it all?

Adrian over Amherst.

Point is night-and-day more disciplined and better all around since Coach Brooks arrived, but I still think it would be a lock down defensive style team that would give them the most problems, a la Amherst. Adrian seems very determined this season (except for that night up in Hancock) and they are sooo dangerous with their offensive chances. I've also really become a Shackell fan. He uses his size well and I actually like that he's kinda a flopper. He may not be the most technically sound but I have seem him make some tremendous saves this season, and equally as important, they have come at huge points in games.

Is Shackell the front runner for the Sid Watson? I gotta believe so.

Re: Who's going to win it all?

I have to disagree on Shackell. If Adrian has a small chink in the armor, I think it is net. I am not ripping on Shackell as I think he is good, not great. Certainly not Sid Watson MVP of D3 when he did not receive MVP of NCHA.
