Re: Who wins the NCAA D-I Final?

Congrats to the Golden Knights and their fans!

Clarkson...they're not in the WCHA right? ;)

Re: Who wins the NCAA D-I Final?

Canadian heart wins it over superior talent. Great game. That goal by MacAulay was a thing of beauty.

Well done Clarkson. Appropriate that the first ECAC team to win a National Championship, and it's school's first title in any sport, happened in an ECAC rink. And it was also the first time anyone's scored 5 goals on Minnesota in years.

Interesting that Clarkson's senior class finished their careers having never lost a game in Quinnipiac's arena.

Re: Who wins the NCAA D-I Final?

I stated in one of these threads that I thought Clarkson would need to score 4 or 5 to win this thing and I doubted that they could do it. I have never been so glad to be so right and so wrong. :)

Re: Who wins the NCAA D-I Final?

DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES 5-4 Clarkson

Great game by the Clarkson Gals - not sure it's a miracle vic - Kazmaier winner, top goalie (not sure how she was overlooked for tourney goalie) and a team effort without the best D in the nation - just an oustanding result!

Bravo, Golden Knights! Marvelous & Wonderful. Everyone wanted this one. Thank you for returning 'cup' to its rightful and original home- upstate N.Y.? Uh, you know what I mean.

The fact that Leveille was all Tourney goalie was a somewhat head scratcher but I have no big issue with it. I guess the voters thought her game against Wisconsin overshadowed her loss to Clarkson and Howe's games against Mercyhurst and Minny. I am sure Erica Howe is more than happy to have the big prize.

The Clarkson web site in a story on the game lists Erica Howe as the All Tourney Goalie. Bizarre.

Usually they collect the ballots so early that the score may have still been 3-3 when some people voted. The best way to handle that is just put "winning goalie" on the ballot, because whatever goalie wins in a game like that deserves to make the tourney team.

Re: Who wins the NCAA D-I Final?

And 63.89% of the pollsters here couldn't have been more wrong.

I guess that's why they play the game.

Was one of 6 who got it right, but I'll be the first one to admit that it was more of a wish than a prediction. Guess wishes can still come true. :)

Re: Who wins the NCAA D-I Final?

They announced Leveille in error. It was changed to Howe.

They also announced Shelby Nisbet as a defenseman on the team in error. One of the Minnesota girls took the second D slot along with Fast
