Sums me up, living in Virginia hockey was never that far up on the list. My friends and I decided to start an IM team sophomore year, and then realized that only half of us could skate. So I hauled myself to Lynah for open skate a bunch of times until I could get from point A to point B, not too prettily though. Then a few years of IM, but still not near nay level one could call "good".
edit: did not see that you moved away from VA. I recently moved here and can't really find any close hockey. Might have to suck it up and drive to roanoke to do stick and puck once a week. Unfortunately, once a week is barely maintenance let alone actually improving.
Possibly because you aren't Canadian?then told not good enough
I think co-ed, no-check/no-slap should be mandatory for all screeching hockey parents.
I coach 2-3 nights a week, and play in a very casual, low-skill league once a week.
