Re: White house beer session

Where's the Kobe beef?
Or is that only on the White House menu for FOOWs and FOBOs, and not mere unwashed cops.

The professor should feel shorted by having his Kobe interrupted by a cop.

FOOW - Friends of Oprah Winfrey
FOBO - Friends of Barack Obama

Re: White house beer session

It's all going to be arugala-flovaroed dijon beer anyways.
Nope. Turns out its going to be water.

Make an elitist doosh joke out of that one, little whiny Hannity wannabes!!

As much of an Obama supporter as I was... man this guy's losing a lot of ground with me.

First he outdoes Bush in the bailout bonanza.

Then he tries the "get it done, don't think about it" route on health care (I don't care what your opinions are on health care, that's a STUPID way to go about it).

But this is the line for me. I can't take anyone seriously who would choose THAT beer.

I would just like to say if I was President they would be flying in KBC.

Just think of the good that would do, promoting a small family owned brewery, that would like total recoup the American Economy all be itself.

I think the Bud Light people paid Obama off.

Re: White house beer session

“He’s trying to send a message that he’s an average American and these are two other average Americans,” said Matt Mackowiak, a Republican strategist. “If you complicate that by making an exotic choice, or an import, or too expensive, you can be too cute by half.”

Dumbest quote ever. The choice of beer doesn't make this stupid, this situation makes this stupid. Obama is trying waaaaay too hard to cover his *** for diving into a situation he should have just kept out of, and is only digging even deeper. And honsetly, his PR department is either full of morons, or else feels that they need to cater to America like everyone is a complete moron, which works for a good part of the populace, but not everyone.

Honestly, I don't think Barack Obama knows what beer even is, but his PR people were probably saying something along the lines of "You know what would make you seem cooler in the eyes of Americans? They like to drink lots of beer, so maybe if the President of the United States drinks a beer with his college professor friend who has a temper tantrum at a police officer over racism allegations with that police officer, they'll think you're normal. We better make it a beer they like, though, or else they'll think we're not like them."

I wish they'd put as much thought into the economy or health care as it seems they do trying to boost his image by 'just having a beer' with random people. Stephen Colbert had a good quote last night along the lines of 'the "teaching moment" is that if you arrest a black man under questionable circumstances, you get invited to the White House to have a beer with the President.'

I love this quote: ""When he's not arresting you, Sgt. Crowley is a really likable guy," - Henry Gates
The president of Sam Adams was on NPR complaining that all three had ordered brews from "huge multinational corporations" rather than American beer. Gates subsequently changed his order from Red Stripe to Sam Adams. Obama, no waffler, stuck with his Bud Lite.
