Re: Which team do you support?

Technically, that's incorrect, Vic. We're the only Women's National Collegiate ice hockey champions East of Wisconsin.

****, it feels good to say that!

True, per the wording above. But what gets lost in the shuffle all the time are the first 3 women's National Championships sponsored by the American Women's College Hockey Alliance prior to the NC$$ getting it's act together.

UNH beat Brown in '98, also the first year the Patty Kazmaier was awarded.
Harvard beat UNH in '99.
Minnesota beat Brown in 2000.

For the record, my primary team is UNH and my secondary team is Dartmouth.
I live in Durham, NH and rarely miss a UNH game, men's or women's. I also follow my alma mater, Dartmouth ... but I only catch a game or two in Hanover each season.

Mankato, I like what is happening there and the girls from Warroad will make a difference.

Re: Which team do you support?

The rising and falling and rising and falling and rising again Union! I guess that's one definition of a fan...

Re: Which team do you support?

Thank you whoop87 for explaining to these "youngsters" that there was women's hockey championships before the NCAA got it's 💩 together! UNH is celebrating it's 41st year of women's hockey! Maybe only 1 national championship but many great journeys with outstanding women!🏒🏒👏👏👏😉

I was very specific to include "NC$$" in my previous post knowing that the NC$$ did not sponsor the first 3. :)
Nice to see that UNH (University of No Hardware) applies only to the men ;) .

Re: Which team do you support?

I love the fact that here on the poll, UNH has had enough votes to be tied for 4th yet this year on the UNH thread, I think we've had only 4 posters!! As Spanky used to say, "Remarkable!" ☺
Also best of luck to Coach Erin Hamlen and Coach Kacey Bellamy for having Merrimack into the playoffs after only 2 years in the league!! Tough draw but they're there.......

Re: Which team do you support?

Originally a UNH fan: Saw almost every women's (and men's) game at Snively from 1980 through 1984.

I live very close to Quinnipiac now and have become invested there as well.

Still keeping an eye on Durham, as I suspect I always will.

Re: Which team do you support?

Obvious due to your proximity now Rockytop, that you would enjoy following Quinnipiac......they have committed to building both programs, just like UNH once had! It's unfortunate that both UNH programs have been deflated from their once yearly appearance in the Nationals but that's for another thread......enjoy the Bobcats run in the ECAC....and hopefully keep your periphery on the Wildcats!
