I know people on crack who make more sense than Paul Kelly.:D

Seriously what is the point of Paul Kelly's position? The NCAA poaches far more Canadian kids than the CHL / US players.

I haven't been able to figure out the actual purpose of CHI. "Marketing college hockey" would be trying to improve the profile of schools locally and on TV, to both make the sport more popular where it is and more appealing to more schools.

Going head to head on recruiting tactics with the CHL is something that needs to be done by convincing University Presidents, who actually have the power to push for changes in NCAA policy, not by some outside group paid by an NHL stipend.

Sounds like Kelly wanted more power than the folks he was working with were willing to give. Perhaps we'll see CHI go in a different direction that can benefit CH more. It seems to just be preaching to choir (us college hockey fans) while may not be doing much to help college hockey.

I don't think we, as fans, saw the majority of what CHI was doing, which was outreach to the mid-teenagers currently in the process of deciding whether to play major junior or not.

Exactly. You have your fun by attending cat shows or being a caller at square dance competitions while others have their fun taunting easily upset xenophobic Minnesota residents.

Perhaps this is because a vast number of student- atheletes have gone north to play major Jr.? In the Jr. tournament this year, the US had mostly NCAA kids and you know the rest of the story.
