Listened to Styx - Paradise Theater on the drive in.

Then, the aforementioned Airborne Toxic Event.

Then, some Sly & Robbie

Now, Echo & the Bunnymen

Weird day.

The Colour Revolt: Plunder, Beg and Curse. This one gets better the more times I listen to it.

Rush - Signals

As far as I'm concerned, their masterpiece.

So LUSH and every song is solid. One of the best aspects of the band's playing on this one is the level of restraint that they show. Every note, every bass line, every change in tempo - matters. Some of my favorite Geddy and Neil playing. Alex does a great job adding to the atmosphere.

Subdivisions>Analog Kid = Sublime :)

Asked for Moving Pictures for my birthday and my mom picked this up by mistake coz it was the new one out at the time. Turned out to be a good mistake as this became one of the defining albums for that period of my life.

yes! the 1-2 of Subdivisions/Analog Kid really meant a lot to me as a younger suburban kid, and they still hold up amazingly well. The Weapon is also excellent. one of my favs from the keyboard-era Rush

Coldplay- Viva La Vida

It's not their best album, but I'd put it just below A Rush of Blood to the Head. Feels much more composed than X&Y, which was a mix of singles...

Sort of reminds me how I got hooked on Pink Floyd. My mom bought me a portable 8 track player (the yellow one) at a garage sale. Two eight tracks came with it. Pink Floyd The Wall part 1 and 2. I was six years old and I have been listening to them ever since.

The Wall is some heady s-h-i-t for a six year old!

"Look mom, up in the sky..."

Wonderful!

What did you make of the trial segment? Or Mother? Or Don't Leave Me Now?

Holy cow. Are you okay?

With the right meds I am aok. ;)

I am just a new boy,
Stranger in this town.
Where are all the good times?
Who's gonna show this stranger around?
Ooooh, I need a dirty woman.
Ooooh, I need a dirty girl.

Or

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move
But I can't hear what you're saying

Or

We don't need no education
We dont need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.

Or

'Cos if they catch you in the back seat
Trying to pick her locks
They're gonna send you back to mother
In a cardboard box
You better run

Or

Hey you ! out there in the cold
Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me
Hey you ! Standing in the aisles
With itchy feet and fading smiles, can you feel me

Me, the back deck, fresh coffee, hummingbirds, chipmunks, a ground squirrel (NOT a gopher - I poison those :p), finches and several other birds and the Grateful Dead - 6/18/93.

Really, really nice Sugaree...

Love lazy Sunday mornings! :)

Listening to the Killers for the first time today.

I'm thinking this guy has been cheated on a bit?

Like them. Can definitely hear a Cure influence in there.

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Have been using Pandora. Lately going heavy on the Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel and Dave Matthews stations.
