Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

I really like the new one from The Eli Young Band, Crazy Girl. Its a **** good song. I also like Brantley Gilbert's Country Must Be Country Wide, which I'm starting to hear alot recently.

I'm looking forward to hearing what Eric Church has coming up next...I'm guessing that a new album must be coming soon, that will include Homeboy...

As long as I don't hear "How to Disappear Completely" or "Just" when I hit the wall, I should be fine.
Instead I'm hearing things like "Unnatural Selection" by Muse and "This Place is a Prison" by the Postal Service.

And I can't stop listening to this song:

I've been listening to a lot of angry and/or fast/loud guitar music lately. A good way of venting. RATM, Disturbed, Rancid (and Lars Fredriksen side project Lars & The Bastards), Sex Pistols, Bad Religion, etc.

Brushed the dust off "Return to Cookie Mountain" by TV on the Radio this morning.

Acoustic, of course.

Just finished listening to Codes and Keys by Death Cab for Cutie. Solid from start to finish and it more than makes up for Narrow Stairs.

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

I just downloaded the new Sawyer Brown single. After many years they have a new song and its pretty good. I heard it at their concert a couple weeks ago, liked it then, and just remembered it now. To be fair, its **** near a miracle I remember anything from that weekend.

Also, I'm buying Eric Church's new album, CHIEF, as soon as its out.

Anyone up this late, I know a guy from Fark who runs a public radio show from 9-11 PM AK time every Saturday night.

Link

The guy's freaking awesome. He intentionally tries to make as many jarring genre changes as possible and be offensive. He has the stones to play stuff like Wesley Willis and A Lap Dance Is So Much Better When The Stripper Is Crying. ON PUBLIC RADIO.

Picked up CHIEF over lunch. So far it kicks ***. One song had me singing along by the end of the first time I heard it. There are many songs on this one that will be singles.

my favorite radio station now has morning "hosts". ugh!!! they're not THAT chatty, but it was better when they didn't have anything different than their regular broadcasts in the morning.

Digging most of what I hear off of Doves Kingdom of Rust.

haven't heard the whole album, but I love love love the title track.

Haven't heard the whole album, but I love love love the title track.

Unfortunately, it seems to be the best song on it. It might change though, I have to give an album a few listens before I really make a judgement.

I'm looking forward to Super Eurobeat 217. August 3rd, which means I probably won't be able to hear it until September or October. Yay music not available in this country.

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

After a couple days of listening I think the best songs on CHIEF are, in no particular order: Homeboy, Creepin', Drink in My Hand and Springsteen. Not counting Homeboy, since that has been played for quite a while now, Springsteen really stands out to me, it is a great song. There really are no bad songs on the CD, I'm Getting Stoned is a clever song with lyrics like "Here's to all us haters of old lovers' new last names...she got a rock, I'm getting stoned". :p

I recommend Devin Townsend/Devin Townsend Project/Strapping Young Lad to anyone who likes extreme metal, thrash metal, industrial metal, heavy metal, hard rock, progressive rock, ambient, and new age music. He is very versatile and can fill almost any mood your in.
