Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

This morning the office iPod is playing Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' Anthology and MOJO. Also have various Violent Femmes, Dead Kennedys and Miles Davis tracks to round things out.

I picked up "You Get What You Give" by Zac Brown Band, it is good, but it will take a couple times through it to figure out my favorites. Obviously Colder Weather is my favorite, that song is simply incredible.

Also got "Carolina" by Eric Church. I am very, very impressed by this CD. I've already found 3-4 songs that weren't one of the 4 singles from the CD, that I like alot. I'll be able to listen to this one for a while!

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Awhile back, I asked about a potential Radiohead playlist for running; here's the end result:

My Iron Lung
Electioneering
2+2=5
Where I End and You Begin
Myxomatosis
Karma Police
Just
Everything In Its Right Place
Idioteque
Street Spirit
Black Star
Planet Telex
Airbag
The National Anthem
Knives Out
Lucky
The Tourist
Anyone Can Play Guitar
The Bends
Wolf at the Door

I'd add Talk Show Host as it's the only Radiohead song I like.

Mike Watt "Hyphenated-Man" - as good as he's been since the minutemen. just astounding

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Today's rainy day rotation includes Heartless B88888ds' "Mountian" and Squirrel Nut Zippers' "Best of". And for flavor, a mix of Rage Against the Machine and Billie Holiday.

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Third Day and Chris Tomlin have been getting a lot of play lately, as well as some good instrumental from Jim Brockman.

The Letter Black, continuing my obsession with female fronted gothic/hard rock bands. I'd have to slot them into the #2 slot on my charts, behind the original Evanescence line-up and just ahead of We Are The Fallen. Flyleaf is in the 4 spot. I really haven't found any other female fronted bands that make me say WOW when I hear the song for the first time.

If any of you are <strike>pathetic wastes of human life</strike> going to see Katy Perry in concert this summer, I recommend that you throw carnations on the stage.

I know that performers usually put weird stuff on their riders because they often contain important safety information and want to make sure that they read them all, but let's face it, it's fun to pretend like they're just spoiled *******s

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Love this cover. Prefer the live version, but could not find a good quality one. I love the original by Tommy James, too, btw:

Edit: the Queers' live version I have heard has a little "doo-wop" in there. Really seals the deal. :D
