Red Hot Chili Peppers - 10/28/89 Philadelphia

Nice board.

Have to say I'm not enjoying this as much as the Waters show. Definitely a change of pace though and Flea is seriously laying it down.

EDIT: Once I got adjusted to the radical change, I'm having fun with this.

"I want to party on your puss-say bay-bee..." :D

Just messing. Everybody who's honest has guilty pleasures in their collection.

Otherwise, how do you explain me having Duran Duran, Lady Gaga, The Bee Gees, Justin Timberlake's Greatest Hits etc in mine (to be fair, ours - family collection - although the Duran Duran is all mine :o)?

I believe we'll be getting this new album by him too at some point.

He's an incredible showman. I've said it before, but his appearances on SNL and his hosting of the ESPYs were all really good. He's hilarious.
I have Elton John and Neil Diamond in my guilty pleasure collection. As a matter of fact, I inherited my mom's massive Neil Diamond collection.

*resigned groan* I admit it, Phil Collins.

The man can flat-out sing (and drum,) and his albums are extremely well-produced. Some of the best quality sound I've ever heard, let alone for the time period. Parents would play him over the living room stereo while I was growing up, which made his work sound extra-awesome.

Rolling Stones - 7/7/00 London

FM broadcast of this Steel Wheels show.

Great recording and show.

Got to see The Jayhawks last night. (A private show, no less. [Ooooo! :D] A local law firm did some legal work for them, and they offered to do a show as payment for them and 200 of their closest friends.) Great show, and great to be reminded how cool it is to see somebody good in a small room, versus the stadium thing.

Very cool. Always liked them.

Saw Louris and Olson on their first reunion tour a few years back and it was excellent.

100% agree. I saw Mike & the Mechanics at Ontario Place in Toronto. A beautiful night sitting on the lawn at the amphitheater enjoying one of the best concerts I've ever seen.

My guilty pleasure list includes a lot of country rock from the 70's - Poco, Bonnie & Delaney, Delbert McClinton, Bonnie Raitt and of course the Eagles. There's even some Bobby Darin and Michael Buble (hey, he's a hockey player!). Add in a healthy ration of bands with great horn sections and live albums and I'm a happy camper.

In my younger days I was never a fan of metal and hair bands or reggae, but my playlist now includes Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Poison, Def Leppard and Crue, while my XM is usually tuned to the Margaritaville channel.

Speaking of happy camper, we'll be seeing Bob Seger on May 2 at the Bryce Jordan Center. Hoping Seger and the Silver Bullet Band are half as good as when I last saw them at Maple Leaf Gardens in the 80s.

Jimmy Page - 10/22/88 Detroit (?)

Outrider Tour, I believe.

Great recording and a blistering show. Jason Bonham is the drummer and the singer (John Miles) does the Zep songs well, if a little metal-ish.

Good stuff to work around the house to.

He was in town last night at the X. Everything I've heard about the show is that he did great. Last night was the first on his tour with Kid Rock opening for him. It turns out that Bob Seger and Kid Rock are good friends.

Holy crap, that's an interesting combo!:confused:

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

It sorta makes sense from a background standpoint. They're both originally from Detroit, and weren't household names until they were in their 30s. *shrug*

I know, but how many of each of their fans would like the other? If you follow...

I happen to like both and even I would have a hard time switching those gears although I don't like either enough to go see them.

From what I have heard, KR has gone the Seger route with his songs as of late, although I haven't heard his newer stuff. That being said, I'd like to see them, but not at that price.

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

That being said, "Songs Of Anarchy" (both volumes) were purchased today by yours truly. Great music, a fave of mine is "Forever Young" by Audra Mae And The Forest Rangers.

:)

Just returning the favor of bullsh* statements.

Ah I see. Taking opinions for facts again.

You can listen to all the "heartland rock" you want. Bores the hell out of me.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I will change my original post to "They both bore the hell out of me." :)
