Re: What the Fark???

A lot of these cases never get to trial when the abused spouse drops the charges. How many eventually end in homicide??
Don't know, don't care. Domestic violence (whether it leads to homicide or not) has such dire consequences for society that there is easily a compelling case that it should be illegal. You don't give up your right not to be assaulted at the altar. Perhaps one of the reasons that so many people drop the charges now is because there are already too many messages that domestic violence is okay - and this certainly won't help that situation.

1 in 6 cellphones have traces of fecal E. coli
Oct. 14, 2011 -- The next time you reach for your cell phone, consider this: A new study found that 92% of cell phones in the U.K. have bacteria on them - including E. coli -- because people aren't washing their hands after going to the bathroom.

The E. coli came from fecal bacteria, which can survive on hands and surfaces for hours.

Didn't know where else to post this, but a few weeks back we started receiving calls on the home phone from, "Private Caller" and no matter after how many rings we answer the call disconnects. We have an unlisted line, have the line in the "do not call" list and don't receive any other out of place calls, yet I have no idea how to make it stop since I cannot locate the source. Frustrating even if it's only a minor nuiscance.

Boss Told Me To Stop Giving Dying Co-Worker CPR, Says Service Rep

Last month, a Time Warner Cable customer service rep died at her desk. After any unexpected death, people searched for answers, explanations, someone to blame. But in this case, there may have actually been something foul afoot. A local news station reports that after a co-worker began giving CPR to 67-year-old Julia Nelson, a supervisor allegedly told her to stop and "get back on the phone and take care of customers."

Nelson slumped at her desk at the Time Warner Call Center in Garfield Heights, Ohio, and wasn't breathing by the time paramedics arrived. But before that happened, a co-worker rushed over and began administering CPR, the woman told WOIO, only to be asked to stop. Employees at the scene have confirmed this report.

The woman was also told later by another supervisor that she could be "held liable if something goes wrong."

Ohio has a "Good Samaritan" law on the books, however, which protects bystanders who provide emergency aid from being sued for unintentional injury or wrongful death.

Call the phone company and ask to have the number blocked.

California allowed suit and held liable a good Samaritan.

I don't think the good Samaritan law is the issue. Being told "get back on the phone and take care of customers" while the person next to you is dying just might be the issue.

Hackers Turn 'Sesame Street' YouTube Page Into Porn Site
Hackers briefly hijacked the "Sesame Street" YouTube page and replaced Bert, Ernie and Big Bird with hardcore porn, E! Online reported Monday.

For about 20 minutes Sunday, users who clicked on links to watch scenes from the long-running PBS kids' show were instead confronted with x-rated videos, the company said on its video page.

Sheboygan liquor store shelf collapse shatters 6,810 wine bottles

Talk about not being able to hold your liquor.

Superior Discount Liquor had an unexpected and dramatic inventory reduction earlier this year when a shelf running the length of the store gave way, sending 6,810 bottles of wine and champagne hurtling to the floor. The collapse flooded the store and sent two nearby workers scurrying out of the way.

Me, but I'm in China at the moment and can't see the picture. Assume it's appropriately rednecky?

Yeah.

Yeah.
Well, it makes sense. Just need to find a deer whisperer to discuss the issue with the deer.
