  • The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways. Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar. We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.

What the Fark 7: They're Eating the Dogs!

It's been awhile since I've been up there, but isn't that area gated off with warning signs galore?
No. The breakwall had a gate added after we graduated because someone got swept off that, but the Blackrocks area does not. And it would be difficult to add gates as it would be easy to just walk around them.

Not at all...

It's actually a place I'll fish from when I visit (when the wind/waves are appropriate). The rocks provide some of the best, most stable access to the water in the entire area. I even prefer it over the Lower Harbor Breakwall... Add in the Summer fun to be had there and you'll lose one of the most accessible spots on the entire shore if access is resricted.

But you absolutely need to pick your days. It's fully exposed to a NW, N, NE, or E wind and will absolutely get pounded if it comes from those directions at more then 10 MPH.
