Re: What the Fark 2: That Was... Interesting.

That's what you have to do when you add too much Commercial and not enough Industrial...

Too dangerous. High density commercial that goes bad rips through your high density residential (and your tax base) and then you're toast. Slum industrial is peripheral and at worst you wind up with a crime spree on the auto mile. It isn't pretty but if worst comes to worst you can even plow it under and put in an airport -- something you're not going to do in your core.

Always use Commercial sparingly mixed in with Residential, unless you plan on going with Gambling specialization. You have to rebuild the core anyway to fix traffic later on.

Specializations don't exist in my world. Classic FTW.

All you need to know about today's media. Currently the left panel categories on Real Clear Politics are: White House, Congress, Bill Cosby, Obama, Iran, Senate.

Everything about this story makes it feel like another nail in America's coffin, but especially the WalMart PA proposal. ("The Donald" Trump represents the dark stinking open grave into which we may or may not push the coffin depending on our collective level of despair next November)

Nothing to do with the real world - just NCAA hockey question.

If Team A is on a delayed penalty and scores, Team B goes into the box and Team A gets a power play.
YET
If Team A is awarded a penalty shot and scores, Team B is not in the box and Team A does not get a power play.

Huh?

The penalty shot is essentially the power play...

Birds fly into the Crystal Court of the IDS Center here in Minneapolis all the time. Management keeps a few trees kept in the court, and it's a three-story ceiling, so we usually see or hear one or two chirping away in there.

When I was growing up the Walt Whitman Mall (yes, you can't make stuff like that up -- that's what Long Island does to everything it touches) had an enclosed arboretum and they thought it would be nice to stock it with song birds for the Grand Opening.

And it was nice. For about 2 hours.

That was 35 years ago and I think they're still cleaning the bird poop off the benches.

Saw this on Colbert. I think it's awesome and I'm glad they kept it. I actually buy the town's story.
