Will FSN pick this game up?
Or maybe they can't even if they wanted to?
Can't. ESPN has these games in lockdown.
If I'm Yale and saw the Gophers against CC I have to like my chances in this one.
Paying for games and not showing them, it's the ESPN way.Can't. ESPN has these games in lockdown.
A few things. First of all, if I'm Minnesota and saw Yale play Union and Quinni losing with a combined score of 8-0, I like my chances. Second, the Gophers haven't lost back to back games all year. Third, the Gophers have had their sights set on the NCAA's since Tampa last year. This is what they've been playing for all year so if you think they're going to come out uninterested like they did in the CC game, better think again.
Gophers dismantle Yale and pick up steam for their rematch with the UND.
True, but lately they have been picking and choosing to lose on Friday and then come back for a win on Saturday or vice a versa and that chit ain't gonna work this weekend.Correct, they haven't lost back to back games all year, so I do like their chances. But it will not be a blowout, most of these NCAA tourney games are hard fought and close, with parity and all.

...teams want to avoid getting into a shoot-out style game with the Gophers and will look to play them like BSU and CC have the past couple of weeks.
Whether it is the right approach or not vs an opponent of MIN's caliber, I think you will see Yale get into the fast paced shoot-out style anyway. In games vs BC/Den/CC this season, they have played a completely wide open style and generated 48/37/48 shots respectively. Seems to be their MO.
Good to hear, that brand of Hockey is much better to watch and play against imo.
It all depends which Yale team shows up, the one that dumped 55 shots on BC for a tie and beat CC and Denver in their rinks on the same weekend or the Yale team that lost to Holy Cross by a goal. If it is the Yale team that showed up at the ECAC tourney, then there is no hope.
Yale may have had the most schizophrenic second half this season of any team in D1 college hockey. If Coach Allain doesn't have any gray hair after this, he doesn't have any hair:
Month: W/L Streaks......GF/GA
January: 6-1-1.....27/14
February: 0-5-0.....6/19
March: 5-0-0.....19/8
ECAC playoffs: 0-2-0.....0/8
I suspect the Gophers catch Yale in one of their positive alter egos for the NCAAs to battle like they did against BC, fast in transition with good puck control, and a lot of SOG. Of course, if Yale decides to get up on the other side of the bed, the Gophers will most likely score early and often...game over.

This is probably just stats confirming what you all already know. Gophers should win this game. Unfortunately they have always won the games they "should"
