Well, Well, We Meet Again... SCSU @ NMU, 10/14-15

Re: Well, Well, We Meet Again... SCSU @ NMU, 10/14-15

Kesti moved to Forward for tonight. Hope Walt plans to use him Byfuglien like and park him in front of the opposing goalie all night to create traffic/havoc.

SCSU off to another shuttering, sputtering start losing two to NMU. Congrats for the Wildcats--be sure to beat up on all teams your'e not supposed to beat to help out helpless Huskies get the ever-so-important RIP,...er, RPI points for the final power ratings. Or not.

I was up in Marquette this weekend for the game, and I must say I have never seen NMU start a season playing this well. Three quality non-conference wins!

This could turn out to be clutch in our PWR and RPI toward the end of the year if we keep playing so well!

GO CATS!

Have fun looking up from the basement in the NCHC.

Really? Because our poor performance in the present dictates what happens 2 years from now?

To the Wildcats that can win with class.....Congrats on the sweep. Good luck the rest of the season. It does not appear we will be on track to meet again this year. But who knows, it's early.

Don't forget who was the first school to jump ship on the CCHA once the BTHC was announced. NMU made that decision because they felt it was in the best interest of their program. St Cloud made their move because it wanted to remain with two of their biggest rivals, UMD and North Dakota. Can't blame them for that at all. Certainly don't want to sound like LSSU fans who were unhappy they got dumped by Michigan because they weren't glamorouse enough, but then said they certainly didn't want to play Robert Morris or Mercyhurst because they weren't glamorous enough.

Have fun playing nobodies.
So we should feel so privileged to have just swept a "big time" program? Outside the hockey world, Denver, CC and North Dakota are nobodies. So are the rest of the schools with the possible exception of Miami.

I said nothing of the sort. I said every team in the future WCHA is a non-entity based on their recent accomplishments.

This is a hockey message board. We are talking about hockey conferences. Why does the irrelevant fact that in non-hockey sports, the NCHC teams aren't well followed keep coming up? We aren't talking about non-hockey sports. We are talking about hockey.

And what exactly are our recent accomplishments? Last I checked Bemidji made the Frozen Four and we've won ONE NCAA game in our D-I history.

But the fact that none of the other schools in the NCHC, except Miami are relevant outside of hockey is relevant to the conversation. UMass, Providence and BC are schools that are well known in football and basketball and have a higher national profile than do NCHC power schools Denver and North Dakota are very relevant to Notre Dame's TV partner!

Is Northern Michigan joining Hockey East? If not, what the hell are you talking about?

See if you can follow the chain of events: NMU fan disses SCSU by saying they will be a doormat in NCHC, SCSU fan responds by saying NMU and all other programs in their future conference are irrelevant. So why are you talking about Notre Dame?
