Weekend Scores 10/14 & 15

Re: Weekend Scores 10/14 & 15

Minnesota beats UMD 4-3. The Dogs came out flying, and Minnesota didn't, and the first ten minutes were all UMD. After that, Minnesota took control of the game, except that the Gopher goaltending kept it really tight to the end. Duluth is a fun team to watch, and I'm predicting a third place finish for them, and perhaps second if Minnesota doesn't find a goalie.

Re: Weekend Scores 10/14 & 15

BC won 4-1 against UNH. Thought BC looked pretty good. Granted UNH kind of stinks, but the way tourny teams have been dropping like flies so far getting a win and looking good doing it will get my stamp of approval no matter who we're playing.

Re: Weekend Scores 10/14 & 15

Quinnipiac scores with 2 minutes left in OT. Final Quinnipiac 1 Mercyhurst 0. Hurst played good "D" the whole game.

MN needed OT to win 3-2 despite outshooting UMD 40somthing to14. Bulldogs got their 2 on 4 SOG in the first period in which they only got 6 shots total. It was another well played game and fun to watch. The Gophers dominated but UMD did a great job clearing rebounds and Rooney held them in it.

Re: Weekend Scores 10/14 & 15

Minnesota wins 3-2 in overtime. I thought the Gophers played better today than yesterday, but Stalder scored on a wicked shot that hit the crossbar and in, and then a complete defensive breakdown left her alone at the side of the net with a rebound. Minnesota seemed to play more conservative, and limited UMD to two shots in the second period despite killing three penalties. At the other end, they had trouble getting the puck to go in, but I thought the 45-17 shot margin better describes the game than the score.

That said, the Bulldogs are really good right now. Lara Stalder is a menace.

Seriously TTT, UNH kinda stinks! Well BC beat UNH, Maine beat BC, Maine beat MC and UNH beats MC......6-2! It will be an interesting year!
Thanks for the correction to help the logic! 😉

At least you are stilll here. Did the rest of the BC "faiithful" graduate?
I don't know who else there was, really, outside of me, Joe, and I guess vellnueve. Joe doesn't even post on the men's forum anymore as he has basically no time for anything outside of work and being editor in chief of BCI which is like a full time job in itself. He still follows the program just as closely though and goes to about 10x more games than I do.

Vellnueve is a dentist in the Navy somewhere like Virginia or something and definitely doesn't follow BC sports anymore from what I understand. I haven't seen him in years unfortunately.

BC has probably fallen back to its equilibrium of being in the bottom 2-3 of the NCAA tournament field and being in a dogfight for the Beanpot and Hockey East titles. There is simply no scenario that you can lose to Maine and be in the national title picture, regardless of who is out injured right now.

Not necessarily. The Gophers lost to Mankato in their first NCAA title season, although those Mavericks were likely better than Maine is now. UMD lost to all kinds of teams in a couple of their Olympic year championships. The Eagles have a lot of holes to fill, so October is basically meaningless in showing what they'll be come March. Hang in there.

Good to know about wwhyte. He is a good voice to have in the forum.

Hold off on that drive to the Zikam, it is only October. Linemates need time and kids develop over a 40 game season. you can panic in February.
