Agreed. I am somewhat upset though at the state because if you notice all three divisions had catholic schools in the finals. They just have an advantage in that they can recruit from a wider area. Calumet did real well for a small town school and the CC goalie was quite good.

This will be sad to see a player that could really help Tech come downstate, but who can blame him. If my son was in the same position, I would be hard pressed to send him to Tech if he had greener opportunities.

Too bad if true, but I agree I can't fault the kid at all for that choice.


Calumet had a good run. But today they couldn't get it to go their way. Too many give-a-ways, to many defensive laps. And yes the private schools/Catholic schools always seem to be there. No matter what they say --- They Recruit ---

calumet win or lose is a class program on and off the ice.


If tech ever manages to get to a championship or ever just wins a game I'm sure we'll be happy to start talking about them....( start cramer)

I'm not real sure Suzanne would give a flip answer like that to a fan question. unless its in frustration or exasperation with stupid fans.

I imagine Jamie is ready to go. if we think we're frustrated ... how must he feel.

Was Whitten with the team out in North Dakota? I would've sworn he was at Compuware Arena today sitting with the Brighton coaching staff.

Yeah he was on the bench.

Jamie's postgame thoughts:
Very proud of the guys, after the last three games, picked ourselves up and played in our system extremely well
Got the game to a bounce one way or another
Their goaltender played well, Josh played very well, very very good rebounds
We had good stick positions, put pressure on teh puck
We were able to limit some of their rush opportunities
Stebner was tremendous, got drilled pretty hard in his 1st shift, has been playing with a pretty signigicant injurty for 3 months
We've got a caravan heading to Madison for surguries this week, Gordic, Genoa, someone else, Stebner, not a guy in the room that's not beat up
Wants to keep what he said to the guys to between him and the team

I'm sure on the surface this seems like a great thing for the University, but I'm going on record as saying that this will result in two steps backwards for the hockey program

You're straight nuts, this is the best thing that has happened to the program since Russell was hired. So you think they will win less than 4 games next year?

One thing to remember is that since the coach resigned all players committed to Tech are free to go elsewhere I presume.
