We Cannot Have Nice Things: Michigan Tech 2010-2011 Season Thread: Part Tre

Re: We Cannot Have Nice Things: Michigan Tech 2010-2011 Season Thread: Part Tre

I don't think tech wants to try that against the Sioux... this isn't the goofs ya know!:p
If you didn't notice. Tech may not be...strike that...isn't skilled, but they're big. I think the team can hold their own physically.

but the point you may or may not be missing is that the Sioux can too...my only point is I would be surprised, no shocked, if Hak let tech come anywhere close to pushing his team around.

UND's blue line: 6-5, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 ... Marto's the only one under 6 feet.

We're big too. So hopefully you weren't bringing out the "our team is bigger than your team" argument and just stating a "we're just as big as you" statement.

I'm not saying they're bigger, but as was stated earlier about the Sioux, we're not small like the Gophers. :p

edit: since I looked it up, out of curiousity, Tech's blueliners are 6-5, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, 6-1, 6-0

Tech is pretty big, but the games I have seen this year they do not hit much.
Maybe their limited skills prevent them from hitting to much.
Dave Hakstol was tough when he played and not afraid to throw down the gloves.
I am sure he has a few fighters in his stable. I will be attending the games to see how it goes. I hope some other fans show up.

I just noticed today that we had better ALL get busy posting if we expect to have more regular season threads than wins. We need to polish this bad boy off this weekend!
And begin...

Just read on twitter that Jake Hausworth was traded. Didn't think he was good enough for any team to wannt him in a trade.
Just saw that, too. But apparently they value him as they traded DENNIS WIDEMAN for him along with a 2011 3rd round pick.

Mostly Florida wanted the pick. It seems likely that Tallon is implementing his previous method of drafting a bunch of guys and signing them to cheap, entry-level deals, seeing who rises to the top, trying to win a Cup with that group before they are owed a raise.

They may not hit much, but they hit hard...we've broken 2 panes of glass this year at the JMSIA (both from great hits, one was from Seigo), sure it's just a sign that the arena is falling apart with the team but...

Back from Liverpool to discover that sue fans are almost as bad as goof fans. gesh!

Maybe you'd like a few of our less intelligent ones, I think that would help you.
Some of You guys remind me of Everton.
Though british chicks are pretty darned good looking....

And a couple of our forwards better learn the definition of back check or they might not play much next season. Just sayin...I'm sick to death of watching some guys uncovered man score because he is too lazy to get his butt back.

That is, until 1/3 of the team contracts MRSA midway through November. Then they will play.

It will be nice to see the #1 team in the Country. I remember back in late 60's (at the Dee) and the mid 70's (at the SDC) seeing the #1 team in the Country. Sure seems like a long time ago:mad:.

Re: We Cannot Have Nice Things: Michigan Tech 2010-2011 Season Thread: Part Tre

I'm not looking for our recruits to get us to number one. Even if everyone stays, we will not have enough talent, but we can sure as heck be a winning team.
Seems like we do not come ready to play at times and I wonder, especially from those who were in minny last weekend if you thought they came to play or not.

Regardless of what happens with jamie I think the program is going to get a lot more expensive. I think if we want a competitive program we as a group of fans have to help them find more money.

Baker Olson Kero
Pietila Gordic Pietila
MacLeod Furne Johnstone
Pietila/McCadden/Holmberg/Rix/Kolb/Witt etc.

too soon?

Yes.

besides, I'm done with this team if there isn't a Pietila-Pietila-Pietila line at some point.

Unless we discover the proverbial Fountain of Youth, guys like us won't live to see a day the "#1 team in the Country" plays its home games in Houghton.

A poll of fans:

Will Jamie stay?
