Re: WCHA Thread III

Hmmmm, looks like MN will be competing for 4th place in the conference this year . . . unless they really start to step it up!

Re: WCHA Thread III

Seriously though, I only got to watch live stats but this sounds like it was a heckuva game. You don't see too many 1-0 games where both teams put up 30 shots.

Tomcikova always tough to score on...but Minnesota has too many "goal scorers" that aren't scoring so far this season.

Re: WCHA Thread III

Gophers lead the Beavers after 1, 3-0. Everyone on the Kessel line has scored.
Sertich has yanked The Great Zuzana to start the second (Gasp!).

Re: WCHA Thread III

Three cheers for Ashley Nixon!
She deserves a little something for surviving this brutal season (thru no fault of her own).
I've heard from 3 or 4 different places that she's an absolutely great kid and teammate.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Bemidji State University women’s hockey team’s Erin Cody (Sr., Roseville, Minn.) has been named to the 2010 USA Hockey Women’s Winter Training Camp, set for Dec. 26-31 in Blaine, Minn. The six-day camp, which will take place at the National Sports Center’s Schwan Super Rink, will serve as a tryout and training session for the U.S. Women’s National Team.

“I’m really excited and in my 15 years of playing hockey this is one of the biggest compliments I’ve received,” Cody said. “It’s a great opportunity to get better and to learn from other players who are very talented hockey players.”

The roster for the camp includes seven Olympians, led by Jenny Potter and Angela Ruggiero, who have each competed in four Olympic Winter Games. Also in attendance will be 20 of the 22 players who recently competed at the 2010 Women’s Four Nations Cup.

The coaching staff for the camp includes Katey Stone, head women’s ice hockey coach at Harvard University, Mark Hudak, head women’s ice hockey coach at Dartmouth College, and Hilary Witt, assistant women’s ice hockey coach at Northeastern University.
