UND had more to do with holding UND to 8 goals than Tech did. The 2nd and 3rd period were spent trying to preserve Dell's shutout.

Yeah, yeah. Excuses, excuses. Boo, hoo. I bet ND stays in single digits again tonight and Tech even scores a goal...

UND gave up five shots in the last two periods, I think I might be on to something with my whole shutout theory. You can choose to believe UND couldn't have scored 15 goals or more last night if you wish.

I really don't care why UND "only" scored 8 goals, or if they could have scored more. I just want to see this series end tonight so the Sioux can head on to the X next week.

After actually being able to watch Tech, here are my observations, FWIW: The players have not given up, they just aren't that good. They have a terrible time maintaining control of the puck, possession time sucked, goaltending is overwhelmed. On the plus side, they really hustled out there, but were always a step behind the Sioux.

The most accurate and concise assessment of the Huskies I've read all season.

I think the WCHA should have left the playoffs the way they were with only the top 10 competing. If a team can't make the top 10, or even the top 8, they don't deserve to still be playing. Adding two more losses to this horrible season is really unnecessary for everyone...

It's done for financial reasons. Two more home games for North Dakota to fill the REA.

Thanks and sorry. Your boys put up a valiant effort tonight. Everything that I said was a problem from watching last nights game was vastly improved. That being said, I also think the Sioux were a bit slow tonight, and it made for a more exciting game. better luck next year MTU. (Your band is still the best, if that's any consolation!)

I think they were trying to say that only the top 10 (or top 8) should make the First Round. North Dakota would still host their two games.

Saying that, financial reasons is still probably the answer, but it's a team like Colorado College, that gets to fill the CSWA for another weekend.
