Two hat tricks. Got to like the way this team refuses to take a night off and the seniors especially still seem to still working hard and focusing on improving their game.

a certain Tech poster told me he thinks the players are throwing games to lobby to get Jamie fired. I sure hope not.

I highly doubt they are throwing games, when you are getting 17 hung on you every weekend and have to pull players from the crowd to complete your lineup it's losing or giving up not throwing games. Good news is I think Tech can only go up from here, at least I hope.

When you consider that the name of this thread should really be #52 Michigan Tech @ #1 North Dakota, I think we did pretty good to hold ND to just 8. Go Huskies!!!

UND had more to do with holding UND to 8 goals than Tech did. The 2nd and 3rd period were spent trying to preserve Dell's shutout.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that seems...unlikely. I think they've just quit and are doing a light skate out there.

After actually being able to watch Tech, here are my observations, FWIW: The players have not given up, they just aren't that good. They have a terrible time maintaining control of the puck, possession time sucked, goaltending is overwhelmed. On the plus side, they really hustled out there, but were always a step behind the Sioux. The Sioux are just plain out fast, passing is crisp, and they are stingey on giving up the puck. This is all against a struggling team of course so they look REALLY good. Hopefully it will hold up throughout the rest of the tournament and into the NCAA's.

It's both, really. When you play the #1 team, you're supposed to take your game up a level, but when you come out flat and you're quickly down 4 goals on the road, staring at 30 losses on the year, and the crowd is letting you have it, what's the point in digging in and trying to pick up the pieces from there?
