WCHA first round - Minnesota @ North Dakota 3/14/10

Re: WCHA first round - Minnesota @ North Dakota 3/14/10

Doug&Frank showed a replay of the post-game handshake with TLou going through the line. Nothing but respect from both teams. Very classy.

I am sure you have been able to grow sugar beets for even longer. But you still can't figure out how to grow a single tree, so how smart can you really be?

I guess it's a thing called "glacial melt" and I think it's 7th grade geology. Oh, good. UND 4-1. Happy Hand and his Golden Gonads go home.

See, when UND takes a bunch of cheap shots, the other team handles it classy.

When the other team takes a bunch of cheap shots, UND pulls people out of the handshake line to try and generate a fight.

That's the difference between UND and other programs.

:)

Doug Woog is so washed up... his parting segment was wanting guys to stay for 4 years.

Does he not realize that any of these guys could play more games, get better scouting/training, and be in better shape for the NHL playing Canadian Juniors.

US schools aren't just recruiting against each other, Doug. More kids are going north, especially goalies. It's not the same game. You can't live in the past. I'm surprised you want to.

Re: WCHA first round - Minnesota @ North Dakota 3/14/10

Many of the players leaving early just end up in the minors. Very few of them get significant playing time in the NHL. So yes, it's not much of a reach to expect most to play 4 years at the collegiate level and actually earn a degree they will almost certainly need within 5 years when their go-nowhere hockey career ends in the ECHL/AHL/Europe.

I don't think you understood me... if you go out recruiting saying that kids need to commit to staying four years, they'll go to another college. If all colleges 'unite' on this moral high ground, the kids will go north to Canadian Juniors at 17/18. So, they won't even start in college.
