WCHA First Round: #9 Anchorage at #2 Wisconsin

Re: WCHA First Round: #9 Anchorage at #2 Wisconsin

I'm sure it was because the team was frustrated. That always makes the guys play more physical, and they don't always play with their emotions in check. Happens to all teams.

At that point, they had nothing to be frustrated about. It was 1 to 1, they were controlling the play, then they just decided to play like a bunch of Marvins, well not quite that gooney.

What's the over-under on Clark starting a bench brawl or fight with the top line after we get swept? :D

Re: WCHA First Round: #9 Anchorage at #2 Wisconsin

If I remember correctly, one of the scrums the first time around was initiated by Bennett tripping somebody (or being accused of doing so). Luckily we won't have to worry about that this time around.

History repeats itself and Alaska takes the series to make another Final 5 appearance.

The No. 3 Wisconsin men’s hockey team (22-9-4, 17-8-3 WCHA) will open the WCHA playoffs when it welcomes the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves (11-21-2, 9-17-2 WCHA) to the Kohl Center this weekend.

The winner of the best-of-three series will advance to the Final Five at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn., March 18-20. If the Badgers advance, they will only play on Friday and Saturday. Wisconsin is 59-21-0 all-time in the first round of the WCHA playoffs.

The Badgers swept the Seawolves in the teams’ only series of the season, outscoring UAA, 11-3, in the two games at the Kohl Center back in November.
Looking foreward to being at the game on Saturday. Hopefully the Badgers play with a lot more fire, passion and intensity than they did last Sunday.
If the Badgers show up with a chip on their shoulders, UA-A might be in for a couple of long evenings.

As Kevin Clark goes(23 Goals), so does UAA......We need to shut him down....Wow...You have to give this kid credit though..23 goals on a 9th place team...Way to play hard

It wasn't enough for Eaves to force future recruits out; now he is forcing an assistant coach...talk about a power trip that guy is on.

Does Eaves have to give the refs the old  in the hotel room the night before the game this week... or does he take a break considering it's only Alaska and he might not need them in his pocket this weekend??

I’ve traveled to Madison for all the UAA vs. Buckingham Badgers games for the last 10 years. If they desire to show up with a chip on their shoulders they better drop the purses because it won’t be pretty.
UAA will skate and hit hard like hockey should be played.

I’ll wait around for the bona fide story to come out in the National Enquirer.:D

Re: WCHA First Round: #9 Anchorage at #2 Wisconsin

It could happen, but every player on the UAA team needs to show the will of one Kevin Clark. And they need some luck in net.

There's not a big enough penalty box in the world for a team full of Kevin Clarks.

Not a 9th place team, an 8th place team. A 9th seed. UAA and Mankato both ended the season with identical records.

Just imagine how many goals he might have scored if he had spent less time in the sin bin. Still, UAA fans love the guy. He may be a little chippy, but it's because he hates to lose, and he plays 100% every night. I'd take more players like him any day.
