WCHA Final Five: Hello Empty Seats

Re: WCHA Final Five: Hello Empty Seats

The reason the Final 5 is in St. Paul is because that is where it makes the most money, for every member school. Not because Minnesota is hosting it. Every school makes the same amount of money off of the tourney, so if it were held at the DECC, for example, thats something like 13,000 less tickets to sell for every game. Kiss those 6-digit checks from the league goodbye.

The Qwest Center in Omaha
I'm Sure the 17,000 seats
1100 Club Seats
32 Boxes
Would do a fine job hosting the final five

Re: WCHA Final Five: Hello Empty Seats

I may just be a ra-tard... But why is there a F5 thread here and in the Cafe?

Re: WCHA Final Five: Hello Empty Seats

My seat won't be empty! :)
Mine won't be either. Neither will the other one as soon as bbdl gives me my money. :D
8 hours from denver
9 from grand forks
7 hours from madison
so just the mn schools would have to do more travelling
You realize that half the conference is in Minnesota, and it's quite a haul from Michigan Tech as well. [insert "Like Tech will ever have to go" comment here]. Plus, Omaha will never make the money St. Paul does.

Are you... employed there? I mean, really. Why would anyone want that?

You are not being smart here. Madison is closer to the Twin Cities than it is to Omaha. Same for Grand Forks. Denver and CC would be the only teams who would have a shorter trip, and they won't travel any better than they do now.

It would be more expensive for the league as they would then have to fly in all the teams except UNO, as opposed to only a few or possibly zero depending on who makes the FF here.

Re: WCHA Final Five: Hello Empty Seats

No I'm not in employed with the Qwest center. I just don't like going to X I think it should have been built somewhere else. I also like the idea of going back to rotating through Madison, Denver, Omaha and Minneapolis.

Re: WCHA Final Five: Hello Empty Seats

nor the moronic n00bs (like the one from Omaha)

Yeah, they're going to move this tournament to Omaha. Lay off the crack. We've had discussions on here about the Pepsi Center and the Denver fans are the first ones to say it would never work.

It's at Xcel because that's where it belongs.

Wasn't smart at all. When Puck Swami says it won't work in his own state (that has two WCHA schools) at a premiere NHL rink then reality starts to set in.
