WCHA Border Battle - Minn at Wisc - 10/30 & 11/1

Re: WCHA Border Battle - Minn at Wisc - 10/30 & 11/1

Flying out for the mens UNH/UW series this weekend. Hoping to make it for the Friday game of UW/MINN but cannot find ticket information for Friday's game, only Sunday's. Does anyone have any info?

Looking for you...

I feel like I'm on a ship in a hurricane. The camera work is making me seasick:(

Tie game. Wisconsin scores. 2 goals is the most Noora has given up this year.

EDIT: Wisconsin scores with less than 30s left in the second to make it 3-2 Badgers.

3 - 2 Badgers. Ammerman scored with 2.2 left. Arm - kazoo monkey wants to know if you're there/ He's sitting behind the goal Minny just defended.

Re: WCHA Border Battle - Minn at Wisc - 10/30 & 11/1

4-2 Badgers. Looks like the Badgers hold on Minnesota will continue for this game.

Re: WCHA Border Battle - Minn at Wisc - 10/30 & 11/1

Hmmm... Badgers 0-for-7 on the power play, still struggling in that respect, but they still put 4 on the board. Not good for Minnesota. :(

Sounds like the Gopher women gave up way too many odd man rushes to the Badgers leaving their star goalie hung out to dry.

Re: WCHA Border Battle - Minn at Wisc - 10/30 & 11/1

Congrats to the Badgers for a huge win this afternoon. Unfortunately, with a 2:00 face-off, was not able to attend as I had to work. Kind of a shame a game this big gets relagated to a weekday afternoon.

Even though it's still October, it was really a must win in order to realistically stay in the WCHA race. Same could probably said for Sunday's game.

Actually thought that there would be a bigger crowd with it being Kid's Day. Normally, these games draw well over 2,000. Speaking of crowd sizes, yeah they are boosted a bit by suites attendence, it's not radicially higher than announced size. It's just looks smaller because of the overall capacity of Kohl.

I've been surprised by the crowd sizes at Ridder for the Wisconsin series and WCHA tourney. The championship game against the Badgers last year may have been a half capacity.

The main issue I have with going to games at Ridder is parking. I'm not thrilled with the higher game ticket price (relative to UW), but paying to park in a virtually empty parking lot is a joke. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice place to watch women's hockey, but the athletic department could make going to a game a tad more family-friendly (price-wise).

The monkey on the back keeps getting bigger and bigger. :(

They did. Noora did everything she possibly could to keep it close as it was. The Gopher stopper will need a lot more help for any chance on Sunday. It won't be Noora.

From the way you describe it, the Gophers got badly outplayed. You knew the winning streak had to end sometime, but I was hoping it wouldn't be against Wisconsin!!!

The Badgers could very easily have put twice that number on the board. A very porous team defense was on display. Wisconsin had more jump, and won way more than their share of 1-on-1 battles. This isn't last year's UW team, so Gophs, you have no business letting them own you like that. Do the Badgers want it more? Minnesota, I still think that you are the better of these two teams, but you did precious little to prove me right today.

Here's hoping we get November started on a good note on Sunday.:)

Take a look at the SOG if you haven't already. That's gonna have to change on Sunday...or else.

Puck's about to drop...watching on the Big Ten Network.

GO GOPHERS!!

I hope you're referring to the online webcast. You had me worried that I had spent $2.99 unnecessarily. But there's college men's soccer on the actual Big Ten Network.

Video seems choppy today, but that may be due to watching from home (versus from work). But there wasn't sound until 5 minutes in.

Re: WCHA Border Battle - Minn at Wisc - 10/30 & 11/1

Gopher D got caught standing still :( , and the Badgers lead 1-0. Deluce pops the loose puck past Grogan.

Re: WCHA Border Battle - Minn at Wisc - 10/30 & 11/1

Minnesota's Erickson scores the first PP goal Wisconsin has yielded this year. 1-1 game, 7:45 to go first period.

EDIT: Shot total is 10-2 Minny shortly following the tying goal.

Re: WCHA Border Battle - Minn at Wisc - 10/30 & 11/1

Blankenship makes it 2-1 Gophers with 5:46 left in the first period. Nice feed by Francis to set up the goal.

EDIT: Just saw the replay... Brittany drew 3 Badger defenders before sliding the pass to Kelli.
