Re: WCHA 2014-15: Semi-colons make things seem important

Are you saying you won't pay attention to a hit unless it takes out a kid's colon?? That seems like a pretty high bar. :D

Wait, why are we talking about taking out a kid's colon? Penn State is in the Big 10...

Re: WCHA 2014-15: Semi-colons make things seem important

CHN has a great app that provides that info and more in real time. Perhaps USCHO refuses to acknowledge that it exists...

Honestly it didn't work last weekend any better than the USCHO feed. They both had the BG score with 8 mins left posted 2 hours after the game was over. A number of other scores were the same way. And of course you don't get any idea how the game went.

Some big games this coming weekend. Real big.

These "Live BoxScore" apps on whatever website are a product of the live stats produced at each home game by the home sports information department. CHN/USCHO/whoever just snags the "feed" and reproduces it. The likely culprit was the host school ...

This. They can only rely on the info provided. They aren't manually watching all the games. Although... that'd wouldn't be a bad part time gig :D

Commissioner Robertson is in Huntsville this weekend (makes sense, since we're the only league series on the calendar), and in discussing the Final 4ive, he said, "After 2017, we don't know where we'll be. Who knows? It could be down here someday."

That tells me that they're already planning on scaling the finals back to a more reasonable venue.

I certainly hope so. I'm going to guess that Bruce was the push behind keeping it at a big facility.

Also, they will announce a radio partner for the Final 4ive "very soon".

Did he mention anything about the numerous issues with WCHA.tv?

No, and as I noted in the UAH topic, I didn't have the time to get into it. It's hard to get into strong Q&A in an hour block when you also have to hear from both coaches. If it hadn't been our first luncheon of the year, I would've asked questions and shorted Corbs some time. That said, I really wanted to hear him say that we had better team speed and puck possession this year. I needed to hear that. I'm trying to forget last year.

Re: WCHA 2014-15: Semi-colons make things seem important

Another good non-conference night for the WCHA. 4-1-1.
The loss was Lake State and the tie was Anchorage to Penn State.
Wins against the EZAC, Nachos, B1G, Atlantic.
Need Lake State to win tonight for the HOKY RAST win.

Re: WCHA 2014-15: Semi-colons make things seem important

I thought other than some big mistakes lssu outplayed Notre dame, however ND finished and lake state didn't.

Big win for mankato, but I think they got lucky and need to step it up or Duluth wins tonight.. Also big win for NMU. Can they do it again?
BG impressed and will be a real tough team this year. Ferris.... well not that great but a win is a win. Wins tonight would go a long way for the league come march.

Re: WCHA 2014-15: Semi-colons make things seem important

Not a bad NC weekend overall 7-4-1. Bringing the WCHA overall NC record to 15-11-1.

Re: WCHA 2014-15: Semi-colons make things seem important

Season-to-date WCHA is 15-10-1 in non-conference games.
6-0-1 vs B1G
4-5 vs NCHC
1-1 vs ECAC
2-2 vs HE
2-2 vs AH

Special kudos to NMU for sweeping them stinkin' Badgers.

Re: WCHA 2014-15: Semi-colons make things seem important

I just like seeing the WCHA run roughshod over Barry's Folly. So long as it doesn't interfere with the Goofs' quest for six.
