WCHA 2010-11 Schedules Collaboration

Re: WCHA 2010-11 Schedules Collaboration

Actually, it has nothing to do with UND being a bigger program. In fact, BSU has something that UND doesn't - priority in its own building. That weekend will be the NDHSAA Boy's and Girl's (High School) Hockey Tourney, and the Sioux get bumped (or, more acurately, pushed to Sat./Sun.) from their own building! BSU, meanwhile, has it in their lease that they can't be bumped ... for anything!

So are you saying the Minnesota hockey sections will not be played there?

I didn't say that. They set up a priority system for everything, and the top of the list is BSU hockey. BSU will not get bumped for a section play-off game. Same goes for a concert, a convention, regular season HS hockey, etc. They can't bump BSU hockey. At least that's how it's set up right now.

It hasn't been decided where Bemidji HS will play their regular season games yet. Nymore Arena is still available, and the BCA next to the HS is a possibility. Venueworks has given the school district a quote to play some games at the BREC, but no final decision has been made. The Glas will not be used as a hockey facility next season unless something prevents the BREC from opening on October 15th.

Now, that said, boy's finals (8AA - TRF) were on a Wednesday last year, and 8A (EGF) was on a Thursday (although I can't imagine Section 8 taking that tourney away from Warroad, Thief River Falls or East Grand Forks - FWIW, it's scheduled for TRF in 2011, and a recent request by Crookston to be added to the rotation was denied). Girl's finals were (8AA - TRF) on a Thursday and 8A (Warroad) was on Thursday as well. No BSU conflict there...

CC is now in the Great Lakes Invitational, not BC. Schedule updated.

Re: WCHA 2010-11 Schedules Collaboration

BC wasn't in it this year, BU was.
Technically, but we knew that BU was not going to go and they were going to be playing in the Sheliegh or whatever. So the plan was that BC and BU would switch spots since BC comes to the GLI next year.
