Exciting game tonight!

Alyssa Gorecki was all over the place offensively and defensively.

Picard created 6 or 7 Grade A chances. She looked unbelievable.

I think Kolowrat's looked great in preseason. Pate...not so much.

Can't really put either goal on Scobee - first one was deflected and the second was an amazing individual effort.

Gotta play better in the third.

It gets real Sunday, Providence just kicked the crap out of Union so they'll be high on confidence.

Thought most of the freshmen played well. Shoutout to Shanahan on her first goal, wicked shot.

Yikes. Didn't see any of the game as it was paywalled...but ouch, that's not a good way to start the regular season.

Providence has started out as a high scoring puck possession team. The Vermont forwards have to do a much better job of pressuring the puck in their D zone, getting turnovers and getting things started the other way. The freshmen need to catch on quickly and until then, the sophs, jrs and srs need to step up.

Providence with 13 goals in 2 games!! Impressive. Now we will see how the two fair who they beat....

Home opener tonight!

Union's a good chance to build some confidence and momentum going into a couple tough games at Quinnipiac this weekend.

That's definitely true. But it's definitely a team we should be beating and using to build momentum. Looked a bit shaky in our first two games.

Agreed. However they are going to get their first win of the season against someone. Nobody wants to be that team that was supposed to beat Union but got beaten by them instead.

Well, except for 2015/16, when they never actually got their first win lol

but the Dutchwomen did show some signs of improvement last year and even early this year

I said "going to." I could care less about the past when they didn't even have a real coach at the helm to properly guide them.

Have yourself a night, Miss Picard. First 4 goal game for UVM in the D-I era.

Nobody looked bad tonight. But the top line and Drobot looked exceptional.

Good to have Willard back.

Onto Quinnipiac!
 
Looks like UVM made a clear statement tonight and it was made with an exclamation mark. Total domination.

So what team will be the first W for Union this season? Looks like Coco Francis should get the next start for Union after being the only goalie of the three to not give up any goals tonight.

The best part is we started the second really slow and couldn't get a zone exit...then she gets the poke check, speeds through the neutral zone, and then outwaits Spooner and buries it from a tough angle. I still can't believe I saw that one live.

First period was even...kinda fell off after that. Scobee looked pretty good though. Need to rebound tomorrow.

Watched the 3rd and it was not pretty. Vermont looked like they were in quicksand next to the QU skaters. Couldn't generate anything. Lots of puck control by QU.
