Vermont at Boston University 2/25 and 26

BU is coming off just about the most uninspiring 4 point weekend ever, UVM still has as many defections as league wins since last March... lets have at it

Re: Vermont at Boston University 2/25 and 26

7:30p friday
6:30p saturday

both on nesn, so no need to go to the rink... :p

I'm predicting BU takes 4 points on the weekend... 2-1 and 3-2.

BU needs four points this weekend to lock up home ice and stay in the running for an at large bid. I'm going with 3 1 and 3 2 as we know a bu win by more than one goal is quite rare. UVM has been playing better of late and are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive So these should be two highly contested games...also will be interesting how chiasson and ruikka respond from being healthy scratches.

Re: Vermont at Boston University 2/25 and 26

BU is overrated and UVM is starting to play like they actually want to be on the ice. SPLIT

Re: Vermont at Boston University 2/25 and 26

UVM will be just flat out overmatched given defections and injuries, but they did show a lot of heart in completely outplaying UNH in the 3rd and OT on Saturday night so there is hope for a competitive game among the two

bu is thought of as average at best. ranked weekly in the high teens.
this is on par with basketball putting out a "top 80" ranking and people voting bu in the 65-75 slot.

you are not implying that they are below average, are you?!?

Only getting a tie in that game was an injustice to Vermont, unfortunately for UNH :(
(though, the 2nd goal from UVM never should have been allowed, UVM still deserved more than a tie)

How do you reconcile these two statements:
1. Only getting a tie was an injustice to Vermont
2. UNH still deserved more than a tie

So.....who deserved the win? I confess, I didn't see or hear the game, but I understand UVM "should" have come away with the W.

OOPS! it was a typo and was fixed, sorry about that....
I meant UVM deserved more than a tie, sorry about that!
(I did mean though that there should have been a major hit from behind called immediately before the 2nd UVM goal so it should not have counted, but I don't even care, I still feel fortunate that UNH escaped with a tie the way they played and the way UVM took it too them the last half of that game)

No problem, thanks for the clarification.

We always seem to trip up against Vermont. But we're at home for this set.

3-3 on Friday
2-1 BU on Saturday

Just a note, over the past 4 seasons UVM is 3-3 against BU at the Gutt and 2-0-2 at Agganis.

Re: Vermont at Boston University 2/25 and 26

My point was more towards that due to records, having home ice is not an advantage for BU.

Either way, UVM has struggled this season, although they are turning the corner. They will compete one night and roll over one night if the past few weeks have shown us anything. I think a split could be a likely scenario.

BU knows they need to win both to have any chance of an atlarge bid since they are a t16 pairwise right now along with 15 rpi and 15 in both polls...they are squarely on the bubble idk how that makes them overrated. Just because UVM wants to be on the ice doesn't mean they win a game... BU sweeps two more one goal games.
