President Donald Trump says the US oil industry could be "up and running" with increased operations in Venezuela within 18 months, after a surprise military operation removed President Nicolás Maduro from power. Trump told NBC News that "a tremendous amount of money will have to be spent, and the oil companies will spend it, and the oil companies will spend it, and then they'll get reimbursed by us or through revenue". Representatives from major US petroleum companies planned to meet the Trump administration later this week, BBC's partner CBS News reported.

Analysts previously told the BBC it could take tens of billions of dollars, and potentially a decade, to restore Venezuela's former output.

TBF, if that is the right term, Maduro's government was always arresting journalists and citizens who opposed the regime. Caracas is what the GOP wants to turn us into.

It will implode when it turns into a failed state. And that's coming, but not just yet.

1. Regime cooperates with Dump.
2. Regime becomes the pigs in Animal Farm, living off their cut and betraying their people.
3. People are miserable but regime can no longer divert blame to US because they are collaborating.
4. Opposition becomes popular, regime clamps down, US corporate security paramilitary firms flood country to protect oil interests and start murdering women and children.
5. Full frontal civil war.


Venezuela is also proof of concept of running a country using wealthy interests and brown shirt goons through occupation of power centers and terror instead of popular support. It's Project 2028. Homelander's got a plan.

We replaced one dictator with another and supported a different one (the so called winner Democrats love who is himself no better) because America has zero understanding of international politics.

Maduro was awful...but like Saddam him being charge kept things at least going. Now his puppet is in charge but people are scared and upset and chaos is on the menu. Things are about to get exponentially worse.

lol, we know exactly what we are doing. It’s 0% about the people and 100% about the oil. So all that matters is that chevron and mobile get oil access.

Much like dole and Central America or any sugar islands, including our own Puerto Rico. People don’t matter, extracting everting is all that matters.
