Is the ice ready at the Wessman for this weekend's games?Big games this weekend between 1 and 2 in the conference hopefully at Wessman. Even though I miss Lenny Rampone this series should be a pretty good one. Any thoughts?
With the point lead that these two teams have over the rest of their NCHA foes (SNC with a two point margin over Superior), the sqaud that could sweep this weekend would be the odds on favorite to take the NCHA regular season crown. Only three weekends of conference games remain after the completion of this week's Fri/Sat competition. A series split will likely result in the series championship going down to the final weekend of the regular season.
Let's take a look at how these two teams compare statisically.
OFFENSE
Goals for: SNC -- 63 in 17 games. 3.71 average. SUPERIOR -- 62 in 17 games. 3.59 average.
Players with 10 or more points: SNC -- nine. SUPERIOR -- five.
Power Play %: SNC -- 19.5%. SUPERIOR -- 15.7%.
DEFENSE
Goals Allowed: SNC -- 25 in 17 games. 1.47 average. SUPERIOR -- 46 in 17 games. 2.71 average.
Penalty Kill %: SNC -- 89.6%. SUPERIOR -- 86.8%
Goalie Comparison: SNC -- O'Brien has played 91.9% of all minutes. 1.56 GAA. 91.9 save %.
SUPERIOR -- Tinham has played 56% of all minutes. 2.51 GAA. 90.2 save %.
Standberg has played 44% of all minutes. 2.75 GAA 91.3 save %.
Tinkham has started three straight games. Could be the favorite to start both games this weekend.
Overall Assessment:
1 -- SNC has the advantage in all offensive comparisons.
2 -- SNC has the advantage in all defensive comparisons.
3 -- SNC has the advantage in all goalie comparisons.
4 -- Superior has the home ice advantage. I would expect two of the better crowds of the season at the Wessman for this series.
I will be there to share in the festivites.
Always an interesting experience at the Wessman. Jusk ask Mr. Popcorn!!!
My memory sucks, so would I be correct in saying Wessman is an olympic sheet?
I'm predicting a split in this series. No concrete reason to think St. Norbert would drop 2 points here, but if there's a team in the NCHA that could split with them right now - it's UWS.
No. 195x87
From my experience, it seems that the Jacket players (and their fans) really get jacked up when the Knights come to town!!What is the reason for SNCs average play up there? Just good UWS teams?

In checking into this further, it appears that the games will be at the Wessman. UWS mens hockey site states this as the location. Is the ice ready at the Wessman for this weekend's games?
Know they moved games to the DECC recently.
