Late in the third period there were so many badgers laying down in their own crease there was no room for any Sioux players. :)

I haven't watched it yet, I had to DVR it. I was at the "Fill the Bowl" game for the UW women, setting a new NCAA women's attendance record of 12,000+, so I haven't seen the game in general. I guess it doesn't really matter, the only goons attend UND right? Old time Badger fans know the former UW radio color guy, Howie, used to just bash UND and called them goons all the time. I'm following in my hero's footsteps. Plus, I think Blood starting a fight during the handshake with the rodents, though very admirable, gives the goon label plenty of re-inforcement.

Howie was a Grand Forks native and spoke well of the Sioux. He was "colorful" though, and certainly was capable of calling the Sioux goons. Best goalie coach ever.

BTW, a lot of Badger fanbase compliments from Sioux fans going around on SS before the Sat game. Must have been some serious drinking.

I just finished watching the game. The McCabe play was goony. The guy is on his hand and knees and he basically gets kicked in the boards. Simonelli's play as also clearly a penalty. Simonelli got sent to the sin bin Friday too, and every time he cried to the ref all the way there. Frankie, skate over, shut up, sit down.

The game...UW didn't play too badly, the game had some nice flow for stretches. That Rumpel long range goal is why I don't think every shot needs to be butterflied. Stand up, and let it hit you in the chest. Other than that, he played very well. UW needs to be stronger in front of the net. On that 3rd goal, a UW D was drapped all over the guy, but he was out-muscled. Lift his stick, even deck him, that's a spot where I'd be all for taking a trip to the sin bin for taking that UND guy out. You can't give the UND guy 2 wacks at it.

The best part of the game was the anthem, the sooh fans allowed him to finish it properly. :) There is hope yet.

Dirty, where are you? I know you are disappointed I gave you an objective opinion of Simonelli's and McCabe's plays that you weren't expecting, but at least you can acknowledge I just blew your mind.

Actually I was spending my time looking for a hearing specialist in Juneau as you are obviously in need of one if you didn't hear Home of the Sioux at the end of the anthem. But yes, way to realize that your team of goons is no better than UND's team of goons.

Honestly, I had my hearing checked a couple yrs ago and the right ear is pretty bad, the left if ok. I worked in a loud factory for quite a few years and apparently didn't wear my hearing protection when I should have, so if they sooh fans there did still butcher the anthem, shame on them, you nasty people. In regards to the hearing thing, it's cool in a way because I have a real excuse for not always hearing my wife. :)
